English Task

Good morning everyone and HAPPY FRIDAY! 🙂
I hope you have had a good week. Well done for working hard on all of your home learning tasks this week. I have been working at the school hub all week, but I’ve really enjoyed reading your fantastic work in the evenings. Great effort!
It was also so nice to chat to many of you on the phone this week, I am glad you are all keeping well.

Yesterday you began writing your Guinness World Record entries.

Lots of you made a great start writing your first paragraph!

Today’s English focus is:

Published Writing

Today is an opportunity to finish off your writing from yesterday (if you haven’t already).

Once you have completed your writing, edit your work.

Proofreading and Editing your writing

-Read your work and check it makes sense
-Correct spelling mistakes
-Correct missing punctuation

Once you have edited your work, write your final draft in your best handwriting with all of the corrections.

Then, write your first name on your work and upload a photo of it. I will add it to the gallery, where I can give you feedback.

  1. If I had a Guinness record I would be who could type on the computer the quickest and I would win because my favourite thing to do, and I like tapping on the buttons because it’s so satisfying!

    For your first sentence in paragraph 2, just remember we are writing as if the school have just set a new world record.

    My Guinness world record would be Who’s the best at gymnastics because it’s relaxing and it’s good to stretch your legs and arms. Also, another thing I think why it could be a world record because I’m really flexible and I do it quite often.

  7. If I worked at NASA* this would be my world record attempt.

    PRANK–X–931

    This model is the first of its kind and will have more pranks and gadgets than any other robot in the world – or off the world!

    PRANK–X–931 has 104 built in pranks and gadgets including a whoopy cushion in its metallic bottom, nail polish ( clear ) and 102 more! It took 94 days to make but, impressively, it made 101 of them work the first time. It is at NASA* so when humans go to Mars we can still have joy out of our home. Earth.

    If I could achieve something in the Guinness world records it would be driving a car faster than the speed of light because I LOVE CARS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  9. If I was in the Guinness World Records I would be the best athlete because I am very good at doing long distances I ran 4 times around the hub non-stop in 20 minutes!

    If I had a Guinness World record it would be for the best movie because I have a very good sense of humour to make the film/ movie great and I watch a lot of films, movies and episodes.

    My Guinness World record would be for gymnastic because I have been practising for years and I am very good at it now. I can do perfect cartwheel ?‍♂️, stand on my hands, walk on beam and make flips on it as well.
