Good Morning Year 2!

Click here for a printable version of this blog post: Tuesday English printable

I loved reading all your book reviews yesterday. I’m so glad you have been enjoying this book.

Today we’re going to carry on with adding different endings (or suffixes) to a word, and how that changes the meaning.

Kind is an adjective, as it describes something or someone. Can you work out the word class of kindness, kindly and kindest? It could be a noun, verb, adjective or adverb.

*If you can’t remember what the different word classes mean, have a look at these videos and do the activities to remind yourself:

When you write your sentences, put the word class in brackets at the end. For example:

The little boy was very kind. (adjective)

Extension: The past two weeks, we’ve been looking at different word endings. Have a god at this BBC Bitesize lesson which has more videos and activities for you to do.

I look forward to reading your sentences 🙂
