Good Morning Year 2!

Click here for a printable version of this blog post: English Wednesday printable

Well done for writing your command sentences yesterday – you were all very bossy!

Can you practise these spelling words?

Remember, n’t is the shortened version of not. Be careful though, sometimes when people say didn’t and then try to spell it, they write dident (because that is how it sounds).

Can you write a sentence with some of these words in it? Which words were easy and which were tricky? Have you got any tricks to help you remember these words?

This BBC Bitesize website has a good video and fun quizzes to help you practise more.

Click here for a list of more contractions, with some games and activities to help you practise.

Here are lots more games you can play to practise contractions.

When you’re practising your handwriting in your Home Learning books, remember to start and finish your letters in the right place, sit the letters on the line and remember which ones are tall and which ones hang below the line. There is a handwriting guide in your Home Learning Folders to help you if you need it. This BBC Bitesize page has helpful guides and videos to remind you how to form your letters correctly. If you are feeling confident, then have a go joining your letters. Just remember that the ‘n’ and ‘t’ won’t join because of the apostrophe.
