Today you can start your writing by sending in a photo of your first few sentences or by writing it on the blog. Then I can give you some feedback before you continue your writing ready for it to be published tomorrow!

    The Great Explorer.

    Tom packed food, a fishing rod, binoculars, a torch, flares, food and a saucepan.

    Tom read the newspaper and saw that his dad was lost in the North Pole.

    He saw dolphins as he cast off and set sail.

    When he went to the North Pole he saw gigantic icebergs, mountains, killer whales, artic foxes and Polar bears.

    (There are no penguins living in the North Pole, they only live in the South Pole).

    Tom felt shocked, worried and sad when he read the news about his dad being lost.

    Tom felt brave, excited and ready to set off on an adventure to search for his dad.

    When Tom set off on his journey he felt like an explorer.

    Tom heard seagulls In the sky and dolphins splashing in the sea when he set sail.

    Tom heard the sounds of the sea and the wind as he sailed.

    Tom also heard the sound the killer whales in the sea when he got to the North Pole.

    a tent,two pillows,and two sleeping bags.
    Tom sees an ice-berg , polar bears,snow and penguins.
    Tom felt cold,worried,sad and nervous.
    Tom heard,the wind,his footsteps crackling in the ice and polar bears.

    Can you use the word ‘because’ to explain why Tom packed each of those items.
    For example:
    Tom packed a big coat because he knew it would be very cold in the North Pole.

    Tom packed food, a tent, a compass, a saucepan, flares, a sleeping bag, a torch, a warm coat and boots.
    Tom saw icebergs, polar bears, walruses and the Northern Lights.
    Tom felt worried, brave and cold.
    Tom heard the wind, his foot prints in the snow, the ice cracking Arctic animals like foxes, polar bears and walruses.

    Can you use add more detail to say when Tom felt worried and when Tom felt brave?
    For example:
    Tom felt worried when he was packing his bag.
    Tom felt brave when he got onto the boat.

    Tom packed food, in case he got hungry.
    Tom packed a torch, because it might get dark.
    Tom packed binoculars ,so he could see far away.
    Tom packed a sleeping bag and a tent so he could have a good nights sleep.

    He saw dolphins and whales swimming in the sea.
    He saw mountains and icebergs which were very big and filled with ice.

    Tom felt sad and worried because his dad was lost in the North Pole.
    Tom also felt like a hero because he was going to save his dad.
    He felt lonely and scared because he was on his own.

    Tom heard seagulls flying in the air.
    Tom heard his dad screaming ” Help Me”.

    Tom felt very happy because he found his dad.?

  15. Tom saw giant icebergs he also saw a big huge polar bear.
    Tom felt worried when he found out that his dad was lost.
    Tom heard the polar bears roaring and the ice cracking.

    Tom saw some big whales, lots of snow, icebergs, polar bears.

    Tom felt a little bit sad, scared, and cold.

    Tom heard lots of wind blowing and ice cracking
