I have been so impressed with your beautiful handwriting and I have really enjoyed reading your sentences!

Today you have a spelling and handwriting task…

Challenge:

Tomorrow you are going to write a reply to the letter we received from Teddy yesterday. You are going to write him some instructions to tell him what he needs to pack. Can you write some super sentences which you could use in your letter tomorrow? See if you can include bossy verbs, time connectives and some of today’s spellings. Look at the example below:

    Here are my super sentences for my letter to Teddy to help him pack for his trip.

    1: First you need pack a book about the North Pole.

    2: Next you should pack some food and clean water to drink.

    3: You must take a warm blanket and a hot water bottle to keep you warm at night.

    4. Also you will need an umbrella incase it rains and to stop you from getting wet.

    5. You will also need a large amount of toilet paper, incase you need the toilet.

    6. You must also bring a phone with gps incase you need help or get sick.

    7. Make sure you also pack a first aid kit incase you hurt yourself.

    Wow these really are super sentences! You have remembered your capital letters and full stops! You have also thought of some very useful things for Teddy to pack! I hope he seas your sentences in time!

  5. Dear Teddy,

    First pack some winter clothing and cosy boots. Make sure they are waterproof!
    Next put in food, water and cooking utensils. Dried and fruit and nuts are good to give you lots of energy for your adventure.
    Then pack a tent, sleeping bag and pillow.
    Finally important things like a compass, map, vitamins, flears, first aid box and a book to read.

    You have thought of some very useful things for Teddy to pack! Making sure his clothes are waterproof is a great idea! Well done!

    Here are my super sentences for my letter to teddy.

    1.Dear teddy, first you need to pack a first aid kit medicine in case you get hurt.
    2.Next, you have to bring with you a thick jacket and socks to keep you warm.
    3.You must take some sweets and chocolates to give you more energy.

    I can spot some of your spelling words, time connectives AND bossy verbs (or imperative verbs if we are trying to be fancy)!

    My mom sent you a picture of my handwriting. And this is what I wrote to Teddy:

    Dear Teddy,
    First pack plenty of water and food so you are not thirsty or hungry. Next you need to pack a sleeping bag and matches to keep you warm and cosy at night. Then you need pack a pick and a rope to climb the mountains. Finally pack a compass and a map to find your way.

    My super sentences for Teddy are:
    First, pack some yogurt and peas for a snack.
    Second pack a large sleeping bag and a soft pillow to keep you warm.
    Thirdly get some winter clothes like warm jumpers and socks.
    Lastly don’t forget to take your rocket.
