Our new Wider Curriculum Topic is – Growing!

We will be learning all about how and why seeds grow into plants, vegetables and fruits!

We will be planting our own seeds in our Early Years growing area, and watching the changes to the soil and seeds throughout the season of Spring.

Soon we will be planting our own seeds in soil, and watching them grow in class! We can water them and watch them change, and the take them home.

This is such a lovely topic as we move into the sunny season of Spring!

What would you like to plant?

How you planted anything before?

What would you like to grow in school or at home?

  1. I love to play with water and dirt.
I’ve planted Spring flowers next my home entrance. I look forward to see them. They will be yellow and purple. I water them when needed.
Because of the book of the week I will grow beans. I can already see the sprouts. (I am checking every morning).
I would like to plant carrots at school (as Alfie did in a book I have at home). They are great for snack. And at home I hope to plant tomatoes as well.

  2. I love tulips because they are so colourful.
Last year I planted seeds in a pot and the plant grew so big we had to move it to my granny’s garden. A few weeks later there were lots of baby tomatoes. We picked them every time we went to visit and ate them all up.
This year I would like to grow oranges.

  3. I have planted tomato seeds and my brother is growing sunflowers. We water them lots and they are by the window to get the sunlight. I check them every day when I wake up and they are growing! I am very excited to see them turn into tomatoes!
