Hello everyone, Miss Savage here.

Being stuck in the house can get a little boring so I have been trying to think of some fun games to play.

Here are my ideas:

  1. Card games – such as snap, Uno or solitaire
  2. Pictionary – create your own with a white board and some fun words to draw written on small pieces of paper.
  3. Charades – split into teams and have one person act out a movie, book, or tv show to see who can guess the answer.
  4. Telephone – whisper a sentence into the ear of the person sitting next to you. They then whisper the sentence to the next person. Continue like this until you get to the last person and they have to say what they think they heard out loud!
  5. Dominoes
  6. Jigsaws
  7. Board Games – such as Monopoly and Trivial Pursuit
  8. Family Talent Show – you could try singing, reading from a script, reciting a poem, performing a joke, playing an instrument or doing a dance.
  9. Scavenger hunt – hide objects around the house and make a set of clues to find them.

Please let me know if you have tried any of these games, or if you have any of your own ideas to share with the school.

I look forward to hearing from you,

Miss Savage

  1. Good morning Miss,
I like playing Monopoly, chess and puzzles. Also I like to dress up like a princess and play with my sister.

  2. Miss Savage says:

That sounds like lots of fun. I wish I had a Monopoly board in my flat! I’m looking forward to visiting my mum and Great Grandma when we are allowed to travel, I love playing Scrabble with them.

  3. I have played Uno, Dobble, Jenga, Ok Play, Trivial Pursuit, Snakes and Ladders and Lego. I think people will enjoy these games.
Activities: arts and crafts like building lego, papier mache, reading, drawing with chalks.

  4. Miss Savage says:

Hello Harry ?? How are you? Building lego is so good because if you have enough bricks you can really be so imaginative and build whatever you like.

  5. Hello Miss Savage I know some card games like Solitaire, Burro and Mouse, a very fun game to play- it’s my favourite. Also I know Pictionary but I don’t play it much but it is fun. I have a jigsaw puzzle at my house but I still haven’t done it and in Spain my grandma has Monopoly which I play with my cousins. Some games I recommend to you are Cluedo a very fun mystery game you can play with your family or Scrabble.

  6. Miss Savage says:

Ohhh tell me more about Burro and mouse, I don’t know that one. Is it a card game?

  7. Hi
I played Spot It and Seven Families with my brother and my dad and my mum.

  8. Miss Savage says:

    What’s Seven families? I don’t know that game ?

  9. Mrs Casey says:

Hello Miss Savage, I think 7 Familles is called Happy Families in English. You have to collect all members of one family based on their jobs. It’s a fun card game, isn’t it Penelope?

  10. Gabriella & Graceanne says:

Hello, we have been playing snakes and ladders with Miss Jones and Miss C at the hub. It’s fun!

  11. Miss Savage says:

Hello Gabriella and Grace Anne ?? Stay safe girls, don’t forget to ask Miss Jones and Miss C to paint a rainbow to add to our collection in the Y1 classroom.

  12. My favourite game is Chess because it’s really good and it’s really fun!

  13. Miss Savage says:

I find chess a little tricky but I’m glad you enjoy it. You must have a very logical brain ?

  14. HELOISE and GABRIEL says:

We just did a Scavenger hunt, it was lots of fun! Thank you for sharing your idea! And we are now going to play Happy Families, we love that game.

  15. Miss Savage says:

Well done! Thank you for sharing.

  16. Hi Miss Savage! I miss you so much!
I’ve been learning to play draughts with my Dad. It’s good fun and I’ve won a few games but I don’t like it when I lose. My Mum says you have to be a good loser as well as a good winner and you learn a lot from losing. I hope that’s true! xxx

  17. Miss Savage says:

Hello Marcus. Draughts is a great game, it makes me think of visiting Budapest where big, old, hairy men play draughts at the thermal baths. Very funny to see! Yes it is a very important skill to learn how to be a good loser, keep trying Marcus.

  18. Dear Miss Lee
I heard that today is your birthday.
My family and I wish you Happy Birthday and hope you enjoy your very special day.
    From Ciana

  19. Miss Lee says:

Hello Ciana! Thank you for your birthday message, it is so kind!
I hope you are finding lots of things to do at home!

  20. Hello Miss Savage. Just to let you know the rainbows are already hanging up!

  21. Hello everyone! I’ve been playing Monopoly except it is themed the Simpsons.
