Workbook: 6A

Chapter: 5 Measurement

Lesson: 1 and 2 Converting Units of Length

Good morning Year 6 and Happy Monday!

Please see the details of your lesson for today. If you find that you have already done your work in your Maths No Problem book, I would like you to complete the worksheet again using your online logins as it is so important to revisit prior learning. Do not just copy the answers!

This week we are going to be focusing on ‘Measurement’ and today we are looking at length.

Quick questions:

·         How many mm in a cm?

·         How many cm in a m?

·         How many m in a km?

In your Home Learning Books, write down the full names for mm, cm and km. You may need to check your spelling in a dictionary!

You may find the conversion mat helpful this week- Conversion sheet

When answering the worksheets, you will need to focus on place value as you will be converting units using numbers to three decimal places.

Converting takes lots of patience and practice!
