Daily Maths Task

Multiplication and Division

We are continuing our work on multiplication and division today.

Today we will focus on multiplying by 4 and 8

Look at the two multiplication sums below the doughnuts. What pattern do you notice?

The 8 times table is double the 4 times table, for example, 2 × 4 = 8 and 2 × 8 = 8 + 8 = 16.

If you know the 4 times table, you just need to double it for the 8 times table.

Finding the product means to multiply. We can say ‘the product of 6 and 8 is 48.’
