Good Morning, Nursery.

Well done for your great  listening and counting yesterday.

Today, we are going to play another number game.

You will need; your number cards, some counters, coins or buttons, some post-its or small pieces of paper and a pencil.

Lay all the number cards in a straight line from 0 to 10.

Now turn all of the cards over so that they are face down in the same places.

Write three different numbers (or ask a grown up to help you to write the numbers) from 0-10 on different post-its or on blank pieces of paper.

Put each number on top of the upside down number card which you think it matches.

When you’ve done all three, turn over the cards and see if  your number matches the card underneath it.

Take a counter for each correct number.

Play as many times as you like and see how many counters you can win.

You could play against a grown up to see if you can get more counters than them!

If you are feeling very confident, you could try it with the number line backwards from 10-0.

If you are finding it very tricky, you could try it with just 0-5 at first.

I am looking forward to hearing all about it.

Love from Miss Siswick.

PRINTABLE VERSION: N Maths Wednesday

It would really help me if you could upload photos  straight to the media file (instructions are here: sharing photos and files) as they get to me more quickly and easily as they don’t have to go via the office and my e-mail. Please can either your child’s name or face (but not both) be visible on any photos. Many thanks.

  3. Good Morning Miss Siswick,

Caspian decided to write the number 1-10 by himself on the papers and enjoyed the challenge . He got it correctly 3 times when I asked him to place the cards and the coins on the correct card .
He was very proud of himself when I failed to find the correct cards since he moved them around especially for me to fail.☺️

  4. Miss Siswick says:

Well done, Nicolas, Alexander and Caspian. I am glad that you enjoyed today’s game.

  5. Hello Miss Siswick
Ania herself wrote the numbers. She chose the numbers at the beginning of the game (2,4,10). She put the numbers in the right place, counted the coins only with the number 10 had a bit of a problem. Ania had a great time. We have played many times.
