Well done for hearing and saying so many words beginning with ‘l’ yesterday.
Can you practice hearing and saying the ‘l’ sound in these words ?
Today’s Phonics task: We are focussing on the sound ‘f’. Practice making the ‘f’ action and saying, ‘fff.’
Here are some words that begin with the ‘f’ sound. Practice saying them like this, ‘ffff fox’.
Go on a hunt in your house for more things that begin with a ‘f’ sound. Practice saying them like this, ‘ffff fork’.
Can you hear and say the beginning sound of the objects that you have found?
Practice writing the letter ‘f’ in the air and on the table with your finger. You can also write the letter on your laminated card using a whiteboard pen or on paper using pen, crayons, paint or pencil.
I can’t wait to hear about all of the things that you found in your house that begin with the ‘f’ sound.

Grace created a sticker picture of a farm with a sticker of a fairy and lots of flowers. It was fun! We also coloured in and wrote the word fish. We thought of fan, flag, fox and fin. She wrote her Fs too.

Fiadh of course! My friend Fabiola, flat fish, frog, fan, flattened (the sand), flag, flake (in my ice-cream), feet, fin, fun, fly and flap (bird wings). Fiadh enjoyed listening to a phonics story for ffff and listed words with the sound afterwards.

That reminds me of something that happened to me when I was the same age as you guys.
I was staying with my friend Freddie in a place called Farringdon. His family were going to take me swimming in a nearby pool. I had learnt to swim but only with Frank, my blow up floating fish, around my tummy. I fell over before I got into the pool and Frank got a puncture. I was really sad because I could hear the air coming out. It made a ‘ffffffffff’ sound. I began to fear that I could not go swimming but I decided to face trying anyway. I took Frank my floating fish from off of my tummy and stepped to the side of the pool. But I fell in. For a moment I was very frightened but the fear left and I realised that I could swim all by myself. I felt fabulous and fantastic. ??♀️
