Good morning nursery, what a lovely activity…one of my favourite topic, music!
Nicolas loves the soundtrack of Cars 2 (the Disney Movie). „I feel super happy“ when listening to it.
We listened afterwards to one favourite song of each family member:
1. Steiermark from Gert Steinbäcker (mummy’s choice):- Nicolas: “I like it as it is a fast song. I like to dance to it”. (Nicolas often sings the chorus when engrossed in play being exposed to the song a lot at the moment ?)
2. Miraculous Ladybug (Les adventures de Ladybug et Chat noir) by Marinette (Sophia’s choice):- Nicolas: “I like the song a bit. It makes me feel a bit tired.”
3. Mitsuko Uchida – Beethoven: Piano Sonata No. 30 in E Major (Daddy’s choice): Nicolas: “I like it, but it makes me a bit bored, but not so much bored.”
Thank you to all of Nicolas’ family. I am going to listen to those pieces of music later to see how they make me feel. (Hopefully not tired or bored!)
Caspian like soundtrack from ‘Despicable me 1,2 and 3’ movie. His favourite one is ‘Happy’ by Pharrell Williams and like watching it too.
We all like to listen ‘Trolls’ ,’Sing’ and ‘Lion King’ movie soundtracks.
To relax we are listening ‘River flows in you’ by Yiruma.
James asked Amber her favourite music which is ‘Shake it off’ by Taylor Swift!
James thinks the music is ok but it isn’t as good as his favourite song. “I’m still standing”. He doesn’t really like the sounds of ‘Shake it off’. He says Elton John is much better.
Mummy thought Sam would enjoy Walking on Sunshine by Katrina and the Waves and that Lovely Day by Bill Withers would make us smile. However Sam said they were boring and wanted to play Little Donkey instead 🙂
I am going to listen to all of your families’ favourites; Caspian, James and Sam. I wonder if the music will make me feel the same as it makes you feel?

My favourite soundtrack is Frozen 2. I like the song ‘The next right thing best’. It makes me feel sad because nobody is there with Anna but I know she will feel better when somebody comes.
Saoirse- I love The Nutcracker- Waltz of the Flowers.
Parts of it make me march around the kitchen! It makes me feel happy, it sounds very graceful, magical, elegant, peaceful and beautiful. I love when the sweets dance as it got so fast and loud!
The Nutcracker book is one of my favourite Christmas books.
Hermine asked everyone at home about their favourite song: Mummy replied “Aquarium” from Saint Saens but Hermine did not like it as there is no lyrics and the music is a bit scary. It is however quite relaxing. Then she asked daddy who replied “I will survive” from Gloria Gaynor as he explained that everyone sings this song in France when the French football team wins the World Cup! Hermine asked Gabrielle who replied “Feel the magic in the air” from Magic System because it makes her feel happy. We listened to it and all ending up dancing
Dad’s favourite song is Reptillia by The Strokes ” it makes me feel happy and I want to dance”
I threw in La Danse Macabre – Do you like it? No because it’s scary and it sounds like a shark is coming!!!!

I am going to listen to them all later when I have finished my work. I’m not usually a keen dancer but maybe the music will get me dancing too!
Mikey’s favourite song is Old Town Road by Lil Nas. It makes him want to sing and dance.
Aoife listed to Joseph playing River Flows in You by Yiruma on the piano and liked it but said it was a bit long…..~Theo played Aoife Dance with me tonight by Olly Murs and everyone danced around the room so she thought that was good!
Eloisa and her brother listened to the Firebird by Stravinsky. We have read the story in Russian before and they were curious to hear it. Eloisa’s painting of the Firebird is attached. She is planning on dancing ballet to this music later today.

Oscar played for me at the piano the Pirates of Caribbean’s song. I like the music, I found it happy but a little bit scary as well.

She said she loves the song because it makes me happy. I like “Balance ton quoi” from Angele because it always make laugh
Mummy likes “L’homme qui marche” from Etienne Daho, because it is a great song!
Daddy likes “No cars go” from Arcade Fire, because I like dancing and it always make me laugh!
