  1. Hi Miss, I love read is Hairy Maclary from Dinaldson’s Dairy. I like this book because I like dogs and this book it is very funny!

  2. I read Up and Down to myself and then to my daddy the next night.
I also read Up, Up, Down to myself and to my mummy, then to my daddy.
My favourite book at the moment is The Octanauts (and the Whale shark) and the Australian Animals book that I read with my daddy.

  3. Over the summer holiday I read “Secret Agent Jack Stalwart: Peril at the Grand Prix”. I really liked it because Jack had lots of special gadgets like glasses that had a secret camera in to take pictures and it was full of action! I want to get the next one in the series.
Before that I read lots of Secret Seven books which were really good.

Some nights we pick a famous person from my “Stories for Boys who Dare to be Different” book. My favourite so far is Banksy.

  4. I really like A Walk in Paris and A Walk in London because I like learning about the two cities. I’m going to visit all of the places in London with my mum and dad.

  5. Hi Miss Travers,
Today I am reading the book called Ant and Bee.
I really like to practice reading. See you on Thursday!

  6. I have loved reading all about the books you have been reading at home!

  7. Florence was very happy when Philip chose ‘Dogger’ as a bedtime story because she told us that Year 1 are reading it at school. This is a family favourite going back 30+ years. We spent a long time looking at all the beautiful illustrations and of course enjoying the story.

  8. It’s a lovely story! I’m glad you both enjoyed reading it! I love the beautiful illustrations too!

  9. Hi Miss Travers,
I like Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland, my mummy is reading it to me.
I also like books about planet Earth, earthquakes and volcanos.

  10. Today my mum read some of The Enormous Crocodile by Roald Dahl. The story is about a crocodile who leaves the river to eat a child. The crocodile is nasty. So far he nearly ate a monkey but he swung into another tree. I like the book. I can’t wait to see how it ends. I don’t think he will eat the child in the end. I think the crocodile will be made into soup.

  11. We read TURNIP is missing. I learned that ‘darts’ and ‘scoots’ means to go really fast. I liked the Turnip ran away again at the end because he is a naughty rat. Turnip eats Sweetcorn, I ate on my holiday.

  12. Amber started reading the Stick man book this pm. She read the first 8 pages. She will continue tomorrow. Herself (and James) love the Julia Donaldson books.

  13. We read one of my favourite books this week – “The Lost Stars”. The stars in the sky get upset because all the noise and the light stop people from seeing the stars. They get fed up an go on holiday to the beach. Then the people realise there are no stars anymore and go searching for them. They think they have found them on top of Christmas Trees and movie theatres, but it is not really them. Finally the people find them on the beach and promise to look up at night and appreciate them again, so the stars go back to work in the sky.

  14. Miss Travers says:

What a great book review, I’m glad you enjoyed the book!
