Good Morning, Reception.

I hope that you enjoyed playing board games yesterday.

Today , we are going to practice the numbers to 20 again.

You will need your number cards from 0-20.

Lay out your number cards in a line from 0 to 20.

Turn around so that you can’t see them.

Ask your grown up to ‘steal’ one number but rearrange the rest of the cards so that you can’t see the gap.

Turn around and count along the line to see if you can say the number which  is missing. You could also write the number that you think is missing.

Put your  finger between the two numbers where you think the missing number belongs.

Ask your grown up to show the number they stole! Were you correct?

Take turns with your grown up to play the game.

If you are finding this very tricky, try laying the numbers 11-20 underneath the numbers 1-10 instead of in one long row. If you are finding this very easy, try laying the cards so the line counts backwards from 20 to o.

Have fun. I am looking forward to hearing all about it.

Love from Miss Siswick. (I will be at school so I will not be able to respond until  later today.)

PRINTABLE VERSION:R Maths Tuesday

It would really help me if you could upload photos  straight to the media file (instructions are here: sharing photos and files) as they get to me more quickly and easily as they don’t have to go via the office and my e-mail. Please can either your child’s name or face (but not both) be visible on any photos. Many thanks.
