On Thursday, we had so much fun exploring and creating spaghetti and marshmallow towers to support a kinder egg. I was so impressed by how you all worked cooperatively and listened to each others ideas. As part of our involvement in the Evolution Project, we will need to be reflective learners, so we can create a secure production set.

My favourite part was seeing how resilient you were in not giving up, but also how reflective you were when you overcame challenges such as securing a weak frame, or changing dimensions so it would hold the eggs.

What was your favourite part of this activity?

What did it teach you about becoming a reflective learner?

Did you face any challenges in your group and how did you overcome them?

What skills can you take away to help us when we work with the engineers?

  1. My favourite part was when we succeeded and I learnt that a reflective learner learns from their mistakes and improves. We faced challenges like how much did the egg weigh and by using resourceful knowledge it weighs 18g, but it still was hard because there was a toy inside. We can use our reflective knowledge, resilient knowledge, resourceful knowledge and our reciprocal knowledge.

  2. My favourite part of the challenge was checking if the kinder egg would not only be held but be stable! If it was not stable we enjoyed checking why.

  3. At first I thought that to build a tower would be simple, but actually it was hard (our group’s tower did not work).

While doing it I had lots of difficulties, so we we needed to change things around and put other things instead.

My favorite part of the activity was building the tower and making shapes with the spaghetti and marshmallows , the thing that I didn’t like was that I was always stressed!!!

  4. My favourite part was trying to put the construction together.

  5. My favourite part was looking if the structure the worked or not because I only just saw if it worked or not.

  6. Even though I didn’t take part in the activity it looked really cool and it was a good start.

  7. I agree with you Eva but even though my build fell apart, it was cool looking at everyone elses and finding out what was easier!

  8. It wad very stressful trying to get the right construction.

  9. No matter what happened in the end, it was fun to build it.

  10. My favorite part was when we made the towers. It taught me that you should never give up and you should find different ways until it works. Yes, when we tested it first it fell so we put more support. Check once and if it does not work. Don’t worry, try again until it works!
