Hello Year 1!

Yesterday I was very impressed with your hard work on the blogs and I am looking forward to seeing some more of your lovely work today!

In science Miss Travers tells me you have been learning all about vertebrates and invertebrates.

There are other ways we can group animals too. We can group them into three categories based on what they eat!

You might want to watch this useful video which gives some more examples of Carnivores, Herbivores and Omnivores:
(Remember to ask an adult before pressing play and to press pause at the end of the video.)

Your Task…

Can you sort the animals into the correct categories: Carnivore, Herbivore or Omnivore. You might want to print the pictures on the sheet below to cut and stick or you could draw your own version of the pictures.

Animals Worksheet

Challenge:
Can you think of any animals that are not on the pictures given? Which category might they fit into?

Just for fun…
On the blog, tell me which is your favourite animal and explain why!

Send in a photo of your work when you are finished! Remember to send it to me and not Miss Travers so that I can upload it onto the blog as Miss Travers is teaching at school. I look forward to seeing your work!
From Miss Lee 🙂
