What is a subordinate clause?
A subordinate clause (or dependent clause) does not make sense on its own.
A subordinate clause begins with a subordinating conjunction, e.g. when, if, although, because until.

The subordinate clause is the name of the part of the sentence which contains the subordinating conjunction. Sometimes, you can start the sentence with it – it may even sound better – but this changes the word order.
Examples:
I fished until the sun went down.
Although it had stopped raining, Anne still wore her raincoat to walk home.
Your task:
Write 8 sentences which include subordinate clauses. Try to make your sentences as engaging and as entertaining as possible.

Check number 1 and 2. Remember the subordinate clause should be a part of the sentence, it does not make sense on its own.

I’m so impressed with how many sentences with a subordinate clause you’ve been able to come up with! Don’t forget to make sure you always have a full stop at the end of your sentences and a space after a comma.

3,They ran away when he did a loud BUUUUURP.

Remember to keep your sentences in the same tense, you second sentence starts in the past tense so finish should be had finished 🙂
