This week we will be celebrating World Book Day on Wednesday 1st March and we will call it St Vincent’s Book Day!

We love to promote reading at St Vincent’s and celebrating Book Day is a fantastic way to reflect on all of our favourite authors and stories we love!

In Nursery, we enjoy reading together as a class. We love reading books with amazing pictures that can we can look at whilst our teachers read to us. Nursery are fantastic listeners, and really enjoy stories that rhyme!

I would love you to share what your favourite story is and why you like it!

We can’t wait to see what books you love to read and share your comments together in class!

  1. My favourite book is The Snail and The Whale! I love all the exciting places that the whale takes the snail, and seeing how different they are in the lovely pictures. I also love that the snail thinks he cannot help the snail because he is too small…but he saves the day! It shows us that we are all special in our own way and we can all achieve great things!

I cannot wait to hear more about your favourite books, Nursery!

  2. I love so many children’s books. One I’ve bought recently is ‘Something’s Coming’ by Richard Edwards and Dana Kubick.
Elephant wakes up in the middle of the night with the feeling that something is coming. Elephant’s friends all get out of the toy box and go on a hunt for the thing that is coming. I am not going to say what is coming, I wouldn’t want to spoil it. You will have to come to Nursery to listen to me reading the story!

  3. Arabella says:

Arabella’s favourite is Little Red Riding Hood as the one we read is interactive. We can lift open wolfs belly to see grandma and little red riding hood.

  4. My favourite book is Spider-Man! He is a superhero, he help people even without his costume and I am a huge Spider-man fan.
