  1. Self-giving is what Jesus made for us, to save us all. To be like him means to think about our friends and families, about their needs and their interests and put them before ours.

  2. This weeks Wednesday word is all about self-giving .In the gospel Jesus said to Nicodemus that if you believe in God you may not be lost but may have eternal life.
Self giving is the will of offering your time ,love ,support and guidance to people who might need it such as poor people and people feeling lonely and sad.

  3. self-giving is when you give people the things you have, to people who may not have the opportunity to get it and putting my selfish desires aside.

  4. Alexandra Y5 says:

This weeks Wednesday Word is Self-Giving. Being self-giving means to put others needs before your own. It is the opposite of being selfish. Jesus was self-giving, as he sacrificed himself for us. God wants us to be like Jesus and be self-giving. We can be self-giving by offering to help before being asked, being polite and letting others go first.

  5. Alexander Y5 says:

This week’s Wednesday Word is self-giving. In the gospel, Jesus told Nicodemus that nobody has gone up to heaven but the one that was sent from heaven which is the Son of Man. It showed God loved the world so much that he sent Jesus to earth. Anyone who believes in Him will not be lost, but live an eternal life with Him. We could be self-giving by helping one another, sharing (toys, sweets, items, food, etc), and we could also offer to help out people cleaning the class, house etc. Overall, we should always be self-giving and we will live an eternal life with God and Jesus in heaven.

  6. I will give to others by making friends after a fall out.

  7. Nicolas yr 5 says:

This week’s Wednesday Word is self-giving. It is the opposite of being selfish and it means that we should put other people’s needs before our own.

  8. This week’s Wednesday Word is Self-Giving. This means to willingly give up your time for people who need it. Jesus said that no one had gone up in heaven except the one who came down from heaven. God loved the world so much that he sent Jesus to save it. We should try to be more self-giving to others and follow God’s way.

  9. Ania year4 📚🌌 says:

This Wednesday word is self-giving jesus tells nicodemus that the son of man was sent to earth by his father God not to punish but to die so people could be freed from sin. Also the son of man would be lifted up just like Moses lifted the serpen. This tells us that God our heavenly father is so loving to sent his ownly son Jesus Christ to die on the cross to save us from sin.

  10. Self-giving means you give away to people. God gave us his son to save us, he sacrificed for us. It is the best gift God has given us and he wants us to be nice to each other.

  11. Florence Y5🤪🍿 says:

This week’s Wednesday word is SELF-GIVING. The word self-giving means putting others first. It could even be just a small thing like holding the door for someone or maybe something like helping people on their work. In the gospel it tells us that no one has went from heaven and returned back to Earth.

  12. This Wednesday word is self giving . Self giving means that you should never be selfish and you should alway help people and put others before yourself.

  13. Self- giving means that you give people things . God gave his one and only son, Jesus who freed us from our sins that lead us to darkness and instead helped to lead people closer to God . We can follow God’s and Jesus’ examples by not being selfish and doing things for anybody who is not having a great time or giving them accessibility to do things inculding getting food and a home.

  14. This weeks Wednesday Word is self giving.Self giving is when you give up or you do something for someone else.God said that no man can go to heaven except the one who has come from heaven which was Jesus,Gods son.Jesus was self giving when he gave his life and sacrificed himself for everyone but we can be self giving by starting with something little like remembering our manners or leaving the door open for someone else as a small change can mean a big thing for someone you have done something kind to.

  15. The picture reminds me of Jesus saying to his disciples ‘Go out into the world and help me serve the people’ . Jesus did not come to be served but to serve us. God gave his only son to die for us.

  16. Alexander Y5 says:

This week’s Wednesday Word is Trustworthy. In the gospel, Jesus was talking to his disciples. Jesus said if people can be trusted with the little things, they can be trusted with the big things. He explained to his disciples people should use money for good and not be slaves to money.
We can be trustworthy by sharing items, using our talents to help others, helping a charity, being kind, and trustworthy to our friends. By being trustworthy, we can get closer to God.

  17. This week’s Wednesday word is Trustworthy. God trusts us and gives us the possibility to chose. If we chose to use our money, our time our talents to help others than we are chosing God,

  18. Ania year4 📚🌌 says:

This week’s Wednesday Word is trustworthy. In the Gospel we hear Jesus say that if you are trusted with little things like toys, stickers and so on you will be trusted with greater things like taking care of the house when someone has to go do something and at the end Jesus tells us that we can’t be slave both money or our faith in God. So this week I will pay attention to take care of all the equipment in school and at home, even if it’s mine.

  19. This weeks word is trustworthy, it means that you do what you say you’re gonna do. God said that he believes that we will all be trustworthy to everyone.

  20. We trust in God that he will look after us. And, trusting a friend, that they will do what they promised and believe what they say.

  21. I trust in God that he will always be here for me. He will always give us a chance to be like him.

  22. Trustworthy means you can keep something and make sure it’s safe.
God gave us his son, and he wants us to keep it safe in our hearts. when we do this we are trustworthy.

  23. This week’s Wednesday word is Trustworthy. I will always tell the truth.

  24. Ferdinand Y2✨️ says:

This week Wednesday word is TRUSTWORTHY. For me, being trustworthy is being honest. We should maintain the trust that people give to us even small or big.

  25. Nicolas yr 5 says:

The Wednesday word is trustworthy. God will always help us to find the right way and do the right thing, even if we make the wrong choice at the beginning.

  26. This weeks Wednesday word is TRUSTWORTHY . In the gospel Jesus teaches us that if we are not trusted for little things then we will not be trusted for big things . I think the message Jesus is trying to give us is that we should never lie and never cheat on someone. Jesus and God want us to be role models to other people and show them the right way.

  27. This week’s word is trustworthy. Jesus is trying to tell us that we should be honest and caring . We should always be trustworthy even when you know you might get in trouble.

  28. This weeks word is trustworthy. In this story Jesus is talking to his friends. You can be trustworthy by sharing toys and other stuff you play with other peacople . Then you can be trusted with bigger jobs like running a house . You can also give to charity.

  29. Alexandra Y5 says:

This weeks Wednesday word is Trustworthy. Jesus was explaining to his disciples that we should always put God first in our lives. He was also explaining about how people who can be trusted in little things can also be trusted in big things, and those who are dishonest in little things will also be dishonest in big things.

  30. This weeks wednesday word is trustworthy . This means when you trust someone and that the person your relying on you know you can trust them. Just how god trusts us to follow in his footsteps.

  31. Trustworthy is being able to be relied on.

  32. -_-Aldrin Y4:D says:

This week’s Gospel is all about Trust Worthy.
In the Gospel ,Jesus said to them “Whoever is trusted in little
things can be trusted in great” , if people are dishonest in little
things , he is dishonest in great.

  33. This week’s word is self-giving. Self-giving means to not be selfish and to put others before you.

  34. alendrina Y5 says:

This weeks word is trustworthy because in the gospel it says if your little good at something your very good at it in the inside and if you are little bit dishonest you’ll be very dishonest in the future and Jesus always lead us to
the correct path if we go on the wrong one ,Jesus always loves us and he forgives us even if we do something wrong. And we should always put God first because he is everyone’s father so we should love him like he does and respect him and also pray so everyone can be blessed by the holy spirit.

  35. I try to be trustworthy by telling the truth and not telling lies

  36. If someone needs help, you can sometimes help them by giving them money.

  37. Alexander Y5 says:

This week’s Wednesday Word is SHARING. In this week’s gospel, Jesus told the Pharisees about a rich man and a poor man. The rich man wore the best clothes and consumed the best food, while the poor man called Lazarus had no food to eat. The rich man never shared.
Eventually, Lazarus died and lived in heaven with Abraham. When the rich man died, he didn’t go to heaven and begged Abraham for water because of the heat. Abraham said he lived a good life on earth and it was Lazarus’ turn to live a good life in heaven.
The moral of this week’s gospel is to share. We can give up our time to help at home, at school and church. We can also share our toys, books, and help each other with tasks.

  38. This week’s Wednesday word is trustworthy.Jesus said to us that we cannot choose both God and money. It is like multitasking or doing more than one thing at once as it’s easier to do only one thing instead. It is the same with God, you can only either choose God or money.Jesus would want us to choose God over money as it will help us become closer and help us to grow closer to him with trust. In one of Jesus’s parables, a manager is fired by his master for lying and putting up peoples taxes. The manager then realises what he did and goes to the town people to build trust by saying to them if they owe his master 100 barrels of wheat to lower it to 80. His master realises what the manager has done and gives him his job back. It is important to build trust with friends and others as well as God so we can be able to go to heaven and so that God is happy and pleased with us as well.

  39. This week’s Wednesday Word is trustworthy. The word trustworthy means someone you can count on because they are honest, reliable, and always try to do the right thing.

  40. This weeks Wednesday Word is Trust worthy were Jesus sayes that if your trusted with little your trusted in Great so Jesus said if your not trusted in things that arn’t yours then how can you be trusted in your own things this Gospel reading tells us that if we arn’t trusted with are own things then how will we be trusted in other peoples stuff that don’t belonge to us.Also we have a chance to chose between “money or God”when Jesus came to earth he was rich but changed to poor for our sake and died on the cross to set us free from sin.

  41. I want to be trustworthy by helping the poor and everyone even the ones which I don‘t know. I help them, because I just want to be trustworthy.

  42. This week’s Wednesday Word is SHARING. God doesn’t want us to stand by ourselves. He wants us to share our money, the things we love and and our talents with the others. This is the only way to make them shine.

  43. Alexandra Y5 says:

This weeks Wednesday word is Sharing. Jesus was telling the Pharisees about a rich man who wore the best clothes and ate the best food. There was a poor man who sat outside the rich man’s house, who had sores and wanted to eat scraps from the rich man’s house. The poor man eventually died and went to heaven, but the rich man did not. We should share with the poor and needy. We can do this by giving to our local food bank, donating toys and clothes to charity and many more things.

  44. The lesson from this Gospel is ‘do not ignore the poor’. If the poor need help, do not ignore them please I beg you.

  45. I would like to share my packet of crisps with a homeless person.

  46. -_-Aldrin Y4:D says:

This weeks Wednesday Word is Sharing. Jesus told the Pharisees “There once lived a rich man who had good clothes and good food to eat, there was this poor man who sat outside the rich man’s house and had sores ate scraps from the rich man’s house. The poor man died and went to heaven , but the rich man did not, We can share by giving the poor supplies to surive and giving food to our local food bank.

  47. Alendrina Y5 UwU says:

This week’s word is sharing. In this weeks gospel, Jesus told the Pharisees there was a rich man who had many food and even big feasts .There was also a poor man near the gate of the rich man’s house. He was called Lazarus. He was covered in sores and when dogs passed they would lick his sores. After a few days the poor man has died and also the rich man and now they were in bosom of Abraham. When the rich man came to Abraham’s bosom , he saw Lazarus with Abraham in the distance and shouted, ” Father Abraham, have pity on me and tell him to dip his finger on water and cool my tongue for I am in this heat. ”. ” Abraham said, “in your life you were rich and had every food while Lazarus was poor and had bad injuries and also was starving to death . So you had a good life it’s now his turn to be comfortable”. Now the rich man is not in heaven and is in the opposite side of heaven. So this gospel tells that you need to share things with the poor and give it to the charity so it can go to other parts of world to go to other poor people.

  48. This weeks Wednesday word is sharing. In the gospel there was a rich man and a poor man.Whilst the rich man enjoyed feasts and wore expensive clothes, outside the poor man survived on scraps of the rich man’s food so weak he let dogs come to lick his wounds. When the poor man died though, he went to heaven and lived with the angels for everlasting but when the rich man died, he went to hell. This gospel tells us that you shouldn’t keep all of what you have and that to live a good and happy life, you will have to share with your fellow people. This doesn’t mean to just give to your friends and close ones, it also means to give to even the people you least like.Jesus said to love your neighbour as much as you love yourself and then you will go to heaven.Just like the patriot Saint of our school, (st Vincent de Paul)we to should share to one another for a sin free life with God.

  49. William Year 1 says:

I will share my food for the harvest and the food banks so that other people can have some. I think God would be pleased.

  50. Alexander Y5 says:

This week’s Wednesday Word is FAITH. In this week’s gospel, Jesus told the Apostles about having faith in God and believing anything is possible. Jesus said we can move mountains if we believe in God, and have faith in Him. Jesus used the example of the mustard and mulberry tree to show the importance and power of faith.

This week’s gospel is teaches us to have faith in God. We can show and grow our faith by praying, listening to the homily at church, reading the bible, and praying for our family and friends to help grow their faith.

  51. Nicolas year 5 says:

This Wednesday word is Faith. This means to trust God and to know that he loves us and looks after us.

  52. I turn to God when I need help. I have Faith in God.

  53. Faith means to me that people know God and follow God. I am Faithful by following God’s way.

  54. This week’s Wednesday Word is sharing. Sharing it’s a way to be kind and generous, making someone else happy and building friendships. I let others to have a turn with my things, like toys and food.

  55. This week’s Wednesday Word is Faith. Faith is like a special kind of trust or confidence in someone or something. It means believing that something good will happen, being completely confident in a person or idea.

  56. Florence Y5🤪🍿 says:

This week’s Wednesday word is Faith. The word faith means to believe and trust in Jesus and God and be confident. In the gospel this week, the apostles asked Jesus to give them more faith. But Jesus said this” If you faith is the size of a mustard seed, you can do great things. If you ask this mulberry tree to pull itself out of the soil and plant itself into the sea, it would obey you”. In this, Jesus means that when you have a smaller amount of something you can grow up to big things like when you are a baby you grow up into a grown up.

  57. Ferdinand 7️⃣ says:

This week’s Wednesday word is FAITH .Faith means belief in God

  58. Maja Matilda y1 says:

This Wednesday Word is about faith. My thoughts on this reading are: ‘Dear Jesus help me to know faith better and help me to follow Christ.’ Whatever I do wrong, please forgive me. Amen.

  59. When gods says to plant a tree and take care of it he means you have to take of your faith to make it grow like a tree and trust your faith.

  60. I will show faith by praying with my family.

  61. This weeks word is faith .Jesus is telling us to have faith. Faith is like a tree it starts of like a seed then it grows into a tree . You can show faith by praying to Jesus

  62. This week’s word is faith. You can show your faith to Jesus by following his and God’s examples. Jesus told us to have faith in people and yourself inculding your friends and family.

  63. This week’s word is FAITH. Faith is to trust in the love that God has for us. It is a very big power that can make everything come true. Because nothing is impossible to God.

  64. Alexandra Y5 ✝️ says:

This week’s Wednesday word is Faith. The parable of the mustard seed teaches us that a tiny mustard seed can grow into very large and impactful big tree. This shows that God’s Kingdom started small with Jesus and his disciples, but it has grown to include many people around the world and in my school.
We can do this in our everyday life by doing small acts of kindness, like sharing with others or being a good kind friend. These deeds can make a big difference in someones life and help God’s love grow and my faith grow.
It is said that “Faith can move mountains.” 🙏

  65. This weeks Wednesday Word is Faith- I will show faith by believing in God.

  66. Francesca Y1 says:

Being thankful to God makes our hearts happy!

  67. Ferdinand 6️⃣7️⃣ says:

This week’s Wednesday word is THANKFULNESS . For me, I am thankful God created me and my family. For my house. To be able to go to school . And my food I eat .

  68. This week’s Wednesday word is thankfulness . God wants us to be thankful for what he does for us .We should not want and want and ask for more, sometimes we should also give and say thank you for what we already have.

  69. Florence Y5🤪🍿 says:

This week’s Wednesday word is THANKFULNESS. It means to be greatful of all the opportunities and gifts we receive from God. We can be thankful by saying in our prayers that we have enough food and water to live.

  70. This week I will be thankful to God for the trees and animals.

  71. I show my thankfulness to my family by loving them. I am also thankful for my friends and teachers.

  72. Luke 😎🍔🍕🍟🏹🛡🕳🐐👑👑👑👑👑👑👑⚽⚽⚽⚽ says:

This week’s Wednesd@y word is THANKFULNESS. Thankfulness to me means to appreciate others and that parents are safe to be with. It also means to appreciate everything and everyone that God loves and that we are all God’s children. And even old people.

  73. Alexander Y5 says:

This week’s Wednesday Word is THANKFULNESS. In this week’s gospel, ten men with leprosy came to Jesus and were healed. Only one of the ten men praised God, and came back to thank Jesus for healing him. He demonstrated his gratitude and thankfulness to Jesus for curing him of leprosy.

The moral of this week’s gospel is to be thankful. We can demonstrate thankfulness by praying and thanking God, being thankful to our families and teachers for helping us, being thankful to our friends when they help us, and showing kindness to others.

  74. This weeks Wednesday Word isThankfulness.God gave us earth, life and people to love and care for us.We should take time each day to thank God for everything he has done for us.

  75. Oliver P Y4 says:

From this week’s Gospel I learnt that it is good to be thankful for what you have and like in the Gospel when one Samaritan thanked Jesus for healing him I would like to be more thankful for the things I get.

  76. I am thankful to God and all the people who help me to learn and grow. I am thankful for the people who are teaching me how to do the rosary.

  77. I am thankful for the earth and the planets, and for the days. I am thankful to be able to help people who are poor.

  78. Nicolas yr 5 says:

This week’s word is Faithfulness. In the gospel Jesus says to always thank God like the one who was healed. If you have faith in God then you live a happier life.

  79. This week’s Wednesday Word is Thankfulness. Thankfulness means to me that we have to be thankful for everything in life such as health, family, friends, God, food, education and many, many more.

  80. Alexandra Y5 says:

This Wednesday word is Thankfulness. In the Gospel, Jesus met ten lepers. Jesus cleansed these men of the disease while they were walking away. Finding themselves cleansed, they ran to the priests to show them what had happened. But one leper ran back to Jesus, giving him thanks. He fell on his face, at Jesus’ feet, praising God.

The man who thanked Jesus was being thankful. Sometimes, when we ask God for something, and he gives it to us, we forget to say thank you. We should say thank you to God in advance. This is called ‘giving thanks in expectation’.

  81. This weeks Wednesday word is Thankfulness. Being thankful is when you are graceful to someone who has done something very important to you. This shows that you are thankful.

  82. If you have faith in God he can help you and support you. However you have to be thankful for God’s love. You should also be thankful for your life, your family, your friends.

  83. Alexander Y5 says:

This week’s Wednesday Word is PRAYER. In the gospel, Jesus was teaching his disciples about the importance of prayer. Jesus told them a parable about a Judge and a widow. The widow kept asking the Judge for justice but he refused and eventually agreed after she kept pestering him.

The moral of this gospel is to be prayerful, as God doesn’t see constant prayers as pestering like the Judge. Prayer brings us closer to God. We can be prayerful by praying to God often, praying at church, at home, and praying for our family and friends.

  84. This week’s Wednesday is prayer. Prayer means to have special time with God. When you pray and you think Gos is not answering , do not give up because is God is good and he will answer you.

  85. What stood out for me was the judge who did not respect other people. People are special and you should take care of them even if you don’t want to. The judge was not a very good judge.

  86. This week’s word is “prayer”. Prayer is the best way we have to be in contact with God. Praying is like speaking with God. He is our father and is always there to hear from us and happy to help.

  87. My favourite prayers are the St. Vincent’s school prayer and my bedtime prayers.

  88. Francesca Y1 says:

Prayer is talking to God and knowing He always listens.

  89. It is important to pray to God because it can save us from sin and help us to be better people. I like to pray to God in Church and when things are tough.

  90. Nicolas yr 5 says:

This week’s word is prayer. God doesn’t give up on you and believes in you even if you turn away. (like the judge). he is persistent like the widow until you cone back to him.

  91. Prayer allows us to be closer to God, our families and friends. I like to pray at night before I go to bed and in the day when I am at school.

  92. This week’s Wednesday Word is Prayer. Prayer means telling God thank you, saying sorry for mistakes, asking for help with things. Prayer is important because it helps us to stay close to God, when we pray, we are opening up our hearts to Him.

  93. Alexandra Y5 says:

This weeks Wednesday word is Prayer. In the gospel, Jesus taught his disciples the importance of prayer. There was a judge who had no fear of God or respect for any person. A widow kept pestering him, asking him for justice against her enemy. After a while, the judge said yes, because if he didn’t, the widow would worry him to his death. ”If the judge, who had no fear of God, helped the widow, then how much more would God help a person who prayed every day,” said Jesus.

This parable tells us that we should pray every day. We can pray any time of the day. While walking to school, at home, at church, at school, anywhere.

  94. LOUIS Y5 😄😄😄🌵🌵🌵 says:

This week’s Wednesday word is PRAYER. It is important to pray since it helps us benefit our relationship with God and other people. When you pray to God and say thank you or please politely, he will grant you many things. We can show this by praying in our spare time instead of playing with something else. Praying is one of the ways to reflect with God. After you pray, you can learn many things inculding growing in goodness by showing the virtues you have and to go to church every week to have the Eucharist. We can pray the rosary with Mary in our spare time aswell. We can come with a happy smile to school every single day and reflect on Collective Worship.

  95. Alda Year5 says:

This week’s word is prayer . Jesus tells us to be closer to God and to pray every day. If you pray and say sorry for what you have done, God will forgive you and help you with daily things in life . Jesus is telling us if you pray and say sorry for what you have done you will eventually get closer to God .The widow kept persisting until the unjust judge said yes but if you pray to God and admit what you have done wrong your problems . In your free time you can sit down in a quiet space and pray to God and Jesus .Praying can benefit your relationship with God and other people . The moral of the parable is if you pray to God you will get stuff quicker. You can try to go to church every week to receive the Eucarist and reflect about your choices. You can also reflect in collective worship.

  96. Florence Y5🤪🍿 says:

This week’s Wednesday word is PRAYER. A prayer is a time of relaxation and where we reflect on our sins and choices, we can say in our prayers to thank God, and to protect those in need it is also a way we can speak to God. In the Gospel, Jesus tells a story. There is a judge a widow, the judge isn’t afraid of God and didn’t have any care for other people. The widow is always asking the judge to give justice but he refuses until he says this “I have neither fear of God or care for anyone but this widow keeps pestering me so I shall give her what she request from me so she will stop annoying me.”A way we can pray more is by remembering to pray before bed and we all pray before we eat our food and in assemblies on Friday(on class assemblies there is a prayer at the end) on Mondays (as a school we come together and we pray our school prayer) and before lunch everyday (we say our prayers before lunch whether it is the KS1 prayers or KS2 prayers).

  97. -_-Aldrin Y4 O-O says:

This week’s Wednesday word is prayer. Prayer is a special way to communicate with God. Prayer is also meant for reflecting your choices you made. Jesus told the story of “their was a judge in a certain town who had neither fear of God nor respect for any other person. In the same town there was a widow who kept on coming to him and saying ,I want justice from you ’ For a long time the judge refused, but at last he said to himself, ‘Maybe I have neither fear of God nor respect for any other person, but since she keeps pestering me I must give this widow her just rights, or she will continue coming and worry me to death.’” Then Jesus said, “If even the unjust judge eventually helped this woman who didn’t give up, then how much more will God, who is good, help those who pray to him every day.” against my enemy.

  98. Harmonyyear 4✝️ says:

This week Wednesday word is self-giving is when you give time up and give to people stuff that they might not have or can’t get the privilege to have and putting your selfish ways in the past and thinking about friends and family to spend time with them even if it’s a day of a month putting people and thinking about them before are self that is want God teaches us about in the bible

  99. Prayers is talking to God and knowing he is always listening. In my prayers I thank god for everything he gave to me. I love my prayer which is my bedtime prayer.

  100. Alexander Y5 says:

This week’s Wednesday Word is HUMBLE. In the gospel, Jesus wanted to encourage and teach people about not being boastful so he told them a parable. The parable was about two men – a tax collector and a pharisee. Both were praying to God in the temple. The Pharisee was praying to God about holy he was and fasting twice a week, but the tax collector asked God for forgiveness and was humble by not looking up to the heavens when praying.

We can act humble by not being boastful, using our talents to help people, and not showing off. For example, we can help our friends with maths, spelling, and things they may struggle with.

  101. This week’s word is humble. In the gospel the Pharisee was doing better than the tax collector but he was boasting about it and God wants us to always be humble and thanks for what skills we have.

  102. I am going to pray to God to say thank you for my gifts.

  103. Florence Y5🤪🍿 says:

This week’s Wednesday word is Humble. In the Gospel there was a Pharisee who went to the temple to pray to God. There was also a tax collector in the distance praying as well. The Pharisee was saying ’ God, I am thankful that I am not greedy, dishonest or unfaithful like this sinful tax collector here. I fast twice a week and give money to the Temple’. But the tax collector said’ Lord, please heave mercy on me for I am a sinner.’

In the end, the Pharisee was boasting and the tax collector was the person actually praying to God

  104. This week’s Wednesday Word is humble. It is important to be humble and not boast. You can still be a good person and know that our gifts come from God. This story teaches me that being humble is about being honest about what we can be better at. To be humble is to say you are not so good at something that you can ask for God’s help to do better.

  105. Being humble means it’s okay to make mistakes, sometimes we try not to make mistakes, but some good can come from mistakes. You don’t have to worry about your mistakes, but you have to tell God about them and ask for help.

  106. Ferdinand Year 2 says:

This week’s Wednesday word is humble. We should humble ourselves to God. We should be sorry for the things that we done wrongly. We should not compare ourselves to others like the Pharisee did in the Gospel.

  107. We don’t have to be afraid to show our weaknesses because this means that we are humble and God always love us.

  108. This week’s word is HUMBLE. We don’t have to be too confident in our talents, but we have to be grateful to God for them. And use them to serve God and to help others.

  109. Alda Year5 says:

This weeks word is humble . In this story there are two characters ,a tax collecter and a pharisee. Even though pharisee did better in his life he boasted about the things he had done , although the tax collecter said sorry and he was humble .Being humble is when you do something good and you do not show off .You can do this by doing good choices and being humble .

  110. Louis Y5🌵🌵😄😄🥨🥨🎃🎃🎃 says:

This week’s word is HUMBLE. You shouldn’t boast when you are praying to GOD because if you do, then God won’t grant you the forgiveness you need to get closer to him. The Pharisee did boast in his prayer because he wanted to show the good things that he had done in his life. Because the Tax Collector did not boast he became humble.

  111. Alexander Y5 says:

This week’s Wednesday Word is ENTHUSIASM. In the gospel, Jesus went to the temple and saw a market. There were animals; sheep, cattle, pigeons, etc for sale. The animals were treated horribly, so Jesus was upset. He made a whip of some cord and drove them all out of the temple. Jesus made the people realise that they are not worshipping God. The disciples remembered a scripture; Jesus then said the temple should be destroyed and in 3 days rebuilt. He was talking about his body.

This tells us we should always be enthusiastic as people can change. We can do this by believing in others, praying to God to say sorry, say prayers together, avoiding greed, and instead giving to charity.

  112. Alexandra Y5 says:

This weeks Wednesday word is Enthusiasm. Enthusiasm means to have strong excitement and active interest. In the Gospel, Jesus went to Jerusalem and entered a Temple. Inside, he found people selling cattle, sheep and pigeons. Jesus drove the animals out and knocked over tables. The people in the temple asked him to justify his actions, but he told them that if the Temple was destroyed, he would rise it up in 3 days, though it took 46 years to build it. Jesus was actually talking about his body. His disciples remembered what he had said when he rose from the dead. We can be enthusiastic in our daily lives by taking interest in lessons, preparing (being proactive) and lots more. Jesus was being enthusiastic because he was passionate for people to worship God in a proper way.

  113. This week’s Wednesday Word is Humble. There once was a Pharisee and a Tax-Collector. The both of them prayed to God in the temple. Then the Pharisee said “I thank you God I’m not greedy, dishonest and unfaithful like other people , particularly this sinful tax-collector here. Then the Tax-Collector took some distance and said ” God have mercy on me, for I am a sinner.

In the end the Pharisee was being greedy.

  114. This weeks Wednesday Word is Enthusiasm. The people in the temple were disrespecting God’s house. We can be enthusiastic about our faith by praying regularly.

  115. I am enthusiastic about going on holiday! I don‘t mind preparing my clothes, packing and getting up in the middle of the night! I even love going in the night!

  116. Alexander Y5 says:

This week’s Wednesday Word is FAITHFULNESS. In this gospel, people were talking about the stone used to build the temple and the gifts in the temple. Jesus talked about all the things staring at you. He also says don’t let people deceive you by pretending to be me. Jesus also tells them not to be frightened of wars.

We can show faithfulness by spending time with God, always telling the truth, put others needs before ours, and following the teachings of God. The moral of this gospel is to be faithful and Jesus will be with you.

  117. Jesus asks his disciples not be scared and to be faithful. He asks us to never be afraid because he will be with you to protect you.

  118. Nicolas year 5 says:

This weeks word is FAITHFULNESS. Jesus is our faithful friend – we shall believe in him and he will always be at our side in good and bad times.

  119. Being Faithful to Jesus is to trust in Jesus and know that he keeps his promise to us.

  120. Being Faithful means always keeping your promises, trying your best and believing in Jesus.

  121. This weeks Wednesday Word is Faithful. In the Gospel Jesus tells us that those who are faithful will be saved. We can be faithful in our daily lives by praying to God and believing in him.

  122. This weeks Wednesday word is Faithfulness- we can be faithful by believing in god.

  123. This week’s word is FAITHFULNESS. To be faithfull to God and trustworthy means to be a good friend of Jesus too and we will be rewarded with the eternal life.

  124. Florence Y4 😎😛 says:

This week’s Wednesday word is FAITHFULNESS. We can show Faithfulness by spending more time and focusing on God, and follow Jesus’ example. Jesus showed faithfulness at The Temple in last week’s Word because when the people held a market at the temple, Jesus handles it and told them that this is not what the temple is for so he cared for God’s house.

  125. This weeks word is about FAITHFULNESS .
For me it is about being trusted to keep your word and never break a promise.

  126. This week’s word is FAITHFULNESS.For me it means to believe in something even when it’s really hard not to lose faith

  127. Being a FAITHFUL friend to Jesus means being kind and keeping your promises.

  128. This week’s Wednesday word is FAITHFUL. If we are faithful to others we will be rewarded. Like you can keep your promises or go to church and pray for the good and bad. God will always help to do what’s right.

  129. Alexandra Y5 says:

This week Wednesday word is FAITHFULNESS. To be faithful, you need to be true to someone or something. It can also mean to be loyal to someone. In the Gospel, Jesus was telling the people to not be amazed by worldly things, like the beautiful Temple. In today’s world people forget to pray, they are more interested in gadgets and other worldly things. It is possible to be faithful in Jesus by trusting him always. We can also pray regularly, help with chores around the house, be faithful and loyal to a friend. We must not become unfaithful to God just because we don’t get what we want. For example not getting a toy or X box.

  130. My faithful friends are Celia and Pilar. They are always kind to me and they play with me. God is also kind to me and he looks after me in the night.

  131. Riva Nursery says:

Being faithful means to be kind to our friends and be there if we need them
    and love our friends.

  132. It is important to show mercy to others. In this way we feel closer to God.

  133. This weeks word is MERCY. Whilst Jesus is on the cross one of the people with him said unkind things about him but the other one interupted him and said that he (Jesus ) did nothing wrong and they were paying for what they did . Jesus showed mercy as guy spoke up for him and he rewarded him in heaven . We can show mercy in our daily lives by forgiving somebody if they shouted at you and did something wrong , you can also pray for forgiveness in your free time and before bed

  134. Alexander Y5 says:

This week’s Wednesday word is MERCY. In the gospel, soldiers were mocking him and said if your’e the King of the Jews, why don’t you save yourself? There was a sign above him saying: King of the Jews. There were two criminals also getting crucified. One of them were rude to Jesus and were mocking him. But, the other was nice to him and hoped to go to heaven, he also said Jesus didn’t do a crime. Jesus hoped to meet him in paradise.

We can be merciful by forgiving others even if they do not deserve it, being patient, praying to God and spreading mercy because that is what Jesus wanted us to do.

  135. This week’s Wednesday Word is Mercy. When Jesus was on the cross one of the criminals next to him abused him but the other praised him .Jesus said to the one who praised him “tomorrow you will join me in paradise”.God is always merciful to us and he wants us to be merciful to others.

  136. This week’s Wednesday word is mercy . You can show mercy by forgiving people even if they have done something bad to you or hurting you. Mercy is a really good tool to get closer to GOD.

  137. Ania year4 📚 says:

This week’s Wednesday Word is mercy. In the reading we hear about Jesus on the cross with two criminals beside him one was mocking at Jesus but the other stood up to the one who was mocking. The one mocking Jesus was saying that if he is the son of man and saves others then why can’t he save himself. while the other says stop then Jesus said to the one who had helped him that in his kingdom he will welcome him and the other will suffer. This tells us that you will be rewarded for your kindness in heaven even if others don’t see you do it.

  138. I think that being merciful means being kind and forgiving.

  139. This week’s Wednesday word is Mercy. God showed mercy to the criminal that was crucified next to Jesus. The criminal asked for mercy to Jesus. God is merciful so that means we should be merciful with others.

  140. Nicolas year 5 says:

This week‘s Wednesday word is MERCY. God is mercy. He will always give us his forgiveness and mercy even if we make mistakes.
His son Jesus showed mercy to those who crucified and mocked him and to the prisoner who asked for forgiveness on the cross next to him.

  141. This Wednesday word is MERCY. God is always mercyful with anyone of us. He understands our sins and forgive us, because we learn from our mistakes. We need to be mercyful as well forgiving friends and family if they sometime go wrong, and keep on loving them, as God always love us.

  142. MOLLY⭐️ says:

This weeks Wednesday word is MERCY. In the gospel Jesus is at the point in his life were he is going to be crucified. Around him, crowds gather near Jesus jeering at him and mocking him. Some throw things at Jesus and a guard asks him if he really is the king of all jews, than why won’t he go and save himself. On either side of Jesus, there was two other criminals. One criminal followed the crowd and said to Jesus just like the guard, aren’t you king of the jews? Than if you really are, save yourself and save me along with you as well. But the other criminal stood up for Jesus and said, do you not realise that me and you have paused the price for sinning? We truly deserve what has happened to us and we truly deserve it! Do you not understand?” Jesus then said to the second criminal, tomorrow you shall see me in paradise.” In this gospel reading, Jesus means that if we love Jesus we will go to heaven or in this case paradise.

  143. Alexandra Y5 ✝️ says:

This week’s Wednesday word is mercy. This Gospel stood out to me because it tells us how merciful Jesus is. He is waiting for all sinners to realise that he is the true and only God and to ask for forgiveness. If they are remorseful from their hearts, God will forgive them.
As Catholics, we are blessed by God because of the gift of the sacrament of confession. I received my first confession before I received the sacrament of Holy Communion. I had a wonderful feeling afterwards.
In our daily lives, we can show mercy by forgiving a friend who has hurt your feelings. Another example of mercy is not getting what you deserve like when someone breaks your toy or takes your friend you still forgive them.
Just how Jesus has been merciful to us, we too should try to be merciful to others. It is not easy to do this.
    Being merciful is a virtue.
It is a tool to get closer to God.
In this parable, Jesus showed mercy to the criminal on the cross because he repented for his sins and begged for mercy. Jesus forgave him and told him that he will be with him in heaven.

  144. Florence Y5 says:

This week’s Wednesday Word is Advent. Advent is the time to prepare for the coming of Jesus. We can prepare in Advent by placing a representation of the birth of Jesus, learning more about it and maybe even performing the nativity story.

  145. This Wednesday word is ADVENT. We have to get ready for Jesus to come, being more kind, staying with the others in peace and praying child Jesus to bring peace and love to every family of the wrold.

  146. Alexander Y5 says:

This week’s Wednesday Word is ADVENT. In the gospel, Jesus was talking to his disciples about being prepared for his return. He said ” As it was in Noah’s day, so will it be when the Son of Man comes.” Jesus also states if a thief tries to break in your house, you will never know.

As we know, advent is the time we prepare for Jesus’ birth. We can prepare for advent by putting up wreaths, a Christmas calendar, decorating a crib, and praying to God.

  147. This week’s Wednesday Word is Advent.Advent is the time of year when we prepare for Jesus’s birth. We can do this by praying more often.

  148. Advent is this week’s word. In the Gospel it says stay awake and wait your master to come because we don’t know when he comes. This link to advent because we are also waiting for Jesus to come on Christmas Day.

  149. Aldrin-_- o_o :D :( :) says:

his weeks Gospel is all about Mercy. Mercy means to forgive something someone for what bad thing they done to you. They sometimes are called sins. In the Gospel, Jesus was getting arrested for no valid reason. When he was in the cross, in top of him there was a sign that said “King of Jews”. There were 2 prisoners beside him ,1 greedy, 1 kind. The first one mocked him saying” Aren’t you the King of Jews” “If you are get us 3 out of here” . but the other one didn’t mock him and said ” Are you not afraid of God?” He is under the same sentence as us, but we are paying for our sins, but this man did nothing at all”. then after all that Jesus said to the second man “Truly you will be in paradise with me”.

  150. Aldrin-_- :D :( :) says:

This week’s gospel is all about advent. Advent is a time when is near Christmas and when Jesus is born. In the gospel, Jesus said to his disciples, “like flood came in Noah’s days, Son of Man’s coming is unknown.
For those days before the flood, people were feasting and drinking all day long, which means they were unprepared for the flood. If they were prepared everyone would have survived. So, with the time Noah had, he built an ark to protect those who believed in God plus animals.

I understood that Noah had heard God and does whatever he said because I know he believed in God and stood up for him. So, we have to be spiritually prepared the second coming of Jesus Christ.

  151. This Advent I am going to be helpful and kind. This will help me prepare for Jesus when he is born. The season of Advent is the time when we let our family know how much we love them.

  152. The word that stood for me is ‘paradise’. Jesus did nothing wrong and still he was on the cross and died so he deserves paradise. Jesus didn’t need mercy but he showed mercy to the criminal and told him to be in paradise with him.

  153. This weeks word is ….
    ADVENT.
Advent is the time were you prepare for the birth of Jesus . You can prepare for advent by praying to God in your free time or before bed.

  154. Louis🥨🌵🌵🥨 says:

This week’s Wednesday Word is ADVENT. ADVENT is a preparation for Jesus’ birth and we light the four candles: HOPE LOVE JOY PEACE. We can show this by praying to God and showing love, joy, peace and hope.
In the Gospel, Jesus told the disciples that they would never know when he was going to be born.

  155. This weeks word is ADVENT. Even though advent is usually known as preparing for Christmas Day like cooking and presents. Advent is really about waiting for Jesus to be born. We light 4 candles hope joy love peace

  156. This weeks word is ADVENT.Advent is’nt just getting chocolate from advent calendar we’re not just getting ready for Christmas Day to get presents.Advent is really about waiting for Jesus to be born.We light 4 candles called hope joy Love and peace.

  157. Alexandra Y5 says:

This weeks Wednesday word is ADVENT. The word Advent comes from the Latin word Adventus which means coming or arrival. Advent is a time to prepare for the coming of Jesus’ birth. On an Advent wreath, there are five candles. The three purple candles represent Peace, Love and Hope. The pink candle represents Joy, and is lit on Gaudete Sunday. The white candle, which is in the middle of the wreath, is lit on Christmas day. In this weeks Gospel, Jesus was telling his disciples that as no one apart from Noah knew that the flood was going to happen. So when he built an ark, everyone thought that he had gone mad. Then, the flood hit and the people were shocked, just as we will be when Jesus comes.

  158. 💕alendrina💕 says:

This week’s Wednesday word is Advent. Advent is a time where you prepare for Jesus’s coming and birth. So at the Gospel Jesus said to the disciples “In Noah’s day only Noah knows the flood is coming, but doesn’t know when it is coming, because Noah trusted in God and the people of his time were making sins and did not trust in God like he did so, you do not know when the Son of Man is coming but do know he will come back. So we have to be spiritually prepared when Jesus will come back for his second visiting.

I understand that Jesus is protecting us from doing sins and truly believes in God his beloved father. It’s very hard to stop losing someone and God made us to forget the past live your future .

  159. The word that stood out for me in this gospel was ‘waiting’ because Jesus said wait for me and be prepared for my next coming. I have to wait till Christmas to get chocolate treats my mum said.

  160. Florence Y5🤪🍿 says:

This week’s Wednesday word is PREPARATION. Advent is a time of preparation. We can prepare this Advent by putting a nativity set or going to church more often. In the Gospel, John the Baptist said to prepare for the coming of the Lord. He also said that he is baptising you with water but someone else stronger than me is coming to baptise you with the Holy Spirit. He meant that people should care and prepare for Jesus and he is coming and the Holy Spirit to bless us.

  161. This week’s Wednesday Word is Preparations.John the baptist told the people he met to prepare for Jesus. He said,”I baptise people in water for repentance but the one who follows me is more powerful than me.I am not fit to carry his sandals;he will baptise you with the Holy Spirit and fire. Now,in the season of Advent we prepare for Jesus’ birth.

  162. Hermine Year 5 says:

    3.12.2025
This week’s word is PREPARATION. During Advent we prepare for Christmas. We have to clean the house, do some cooking, do some shopping, get the Christmas tree up and many other things to get the house ready. But we often forget what is really important to prepare for, and that is our hearts. We need to prepare our hearts for Jesus. To do this we can be kind and helpful and give to charities. Then Jesus can be welcome in our hearts.

  163. This weeks Wednesday word is ADVENT- advent is a time where we are preparing for Jesus‘s birth. We prepare with putting up Christmas decorations and a nativity.

  164. Riva Nursery says:

My adventcalendar is counting down the days to Jesus birth.

  165. This weeks word is PREPERATION- during advent we have to prepare for Christmas by getting our house ready with decorations, but we also need to prepare ourselves by being kind to others.

  166. Alexander Y5 says:

This week’s Wednesday Word is PREPARATION. In the gospel, John the Baptist approached Judea and preached to them. He told them to get baptised in order to prepare for Jesus. He was a prophet that had camel hair, ate honey and locusts. He baptised people who came to him to confess their sins.

As we know, the word is Preparation. We can turn our minds to the true meaning of Christmas by remembering Jesus’ arrival, opening gospel advent calendars, going to confession, and reading the nativity together.

  167. Preparations is when we get ready for something. This links to the gospel we are baptised so that we are prepared to receive Jesus. In our daily life prayers are also a preparation to receive Jesus.

  168. I will prepare for Christmas by putting up the crib and saying a prayer.

  169. This week’s Wednesday word is “preparation”. We have to get ready as Jesus, our Lord is coming. I really hope that this year the miracle of Christmas will bring love and peace to everyone on Earth.

  170. Preparations are getting ready for something. I am getting ready for Jesus birth, it is a special time of the year.
I will prepare by putting up my Christmas tree and decorations. I will go to mass every Sunday and remember what Christmas is really about.
