Good morning Year 6!

We have been missing you all!

How are you all?

What have you been doing to keep busy since being at home?

I’m feeling a bit happier today as the sun is shining so I might find a sunny corner and start reading my new book.

Does anyone have any tips for keeping busy?

To keep busy, I’m trying to learn some new skills! Does anyone have any suggestions?

Use this blog to chat to each other and tell everyone what you have been doing! It is so important to keep in touch with each other!i

Finally did you see our Rainbow of Hope Video?

I love the illustration by Charlie Mackesy. Sometimes it can feel daunting in these strange times but we’ve got to keep putting one foot in front of the other.

p.s have a look at Elly’s super drawing of Lowry-well done!

  1. I think to keep your self busy you should read do some sports some yoga or something like that

  2. Well, I’m doing the blogs every morning at nine. Then around lunch I’m finished with it and something from the learning pack. Right now while I waited for the blog, I did some stretching, and also worked on my Rowley painting which I’m really proud of. I’ve also been doing a lot of piano since my mum got a new piano, and I’ve learnt a lot of stuff (with lots of help from Alfie). After that I go out with my mum on my new bike that I got recently. Then in the evening I would have a ballet class online, so I’m staying fit.

  3. Are there any other blogs now ?
Or is it just that we are in the Easter holiday
    Happy Easter!????
Hope we come back to school and see each other again

  4. Miss Gorick says:

Hi Paloma 🙂 I hope that we come back to school too!
So, one whole school blog will be posted each day so make sure you check that out on the main page!

  5. I was waiting for the blog today, until I realised it was Easter and read the last message again. I’m still doing my Rowley work, and I’ve decided to change it up a bit, by focusing into one corner, and making it grey and white, just so it’s a bit more mine. I also did a ballet stretch class this morning, at 8:00. I also drafted my writing task 2, I think I’m gonna add in a bit more though. Wonder what everyone else is doing…

hahah same i didn’t know if there was the blog today and i also realised that it was Easter ???

  7. To keep you busy you could draw, read or do sports. ?

  8. By the way Happy Easter!!!

  9. Another way you could keep busy is by helping your parents cook, clean the house and always have time to read a book. You could even make some arts and crafts with your parents and siblings if they are free. Well I’m doing something crafty as my mum and sister is helping me make a surprise poster for Hannah so she can start decorating her new room.

  10. Happy Easter everyone!
    Missing you 🙁
Lately,I have been reading, doing the guitar and a bit of piano(I haven’t been on it for a long time)
Another way I’ve been keeping myself and my sister occupied is making movies on iMovie! This is such fun especially as it makes your imagination run free!I also like to make music on garage band! Its really fun! Try these things and see what you come up with!

  12. What I do to keep busy is I start my day by with Joe’s PE session, I play board games with my parents, I listen to stories on audible, I read, cook and video chatting with my friends and family.

I think we should keep our selves busy by doing things we enjoy e.g. arts, reading books and also keeping our bodies healthy

Baking is one of the best things to do while in quarantine lock-down.
For example, me and my dad have recently baked an apple tart that was so much fun to make!

P.S. I don’t know why everyone is saying that it is Easter because Easter is on the 12th of April, not the 6th.

  15. It’s the Easter holiday.I think that’s what they mean.

  16. Yep you can back! That is true and fun. I have been doing cupcakes myself with out help!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!???????????and keep healthy !??q(≧▽≦q)(~ ̄▽ ̄)~

    Take care,
    Miss Coleman

  18. I meant bake!??

  19. I loved the hope video. It was wonderful. I really liked and it made me think of the nice times we have spent together ??

But I hope we can reunite again and spend more time together ?
    and do the production …

    and have fun!

  20. Me too! I am missing everyone and the school ? !

I have lately been making animations at home. I miss everyone and I hope everyone is having a wonderful Easter holiday.

    Happy Easter! ?

  22. Good afternoon year 6 , I miss you all very much and hope to see you very soon ! How are you all ?? To keep myself busy I have been playing with my cat and messaging my friends !! ?
P.S Miss Gorick do you know if we will use google classrooms after Easter ?
    ? Happy Easter ?

  23. Also in my free time I am baking a lot and have recently made my dad a birthday cake ! ?

  24. To keep yourself busy, I would suggest having a go at photography, and then editing the photos in funny ways. This enhances your creative side, and is a lot of fun, too!!!

  25. Miss Gorick says:

Morning all! I hope that you had a peaceful Easter. It was certainly a unique one!
On Sunday, we had a ‘virtual’ Easter service in our living room, which actually felt very special.
I have really enjoyed reading your comments-thank you! My timer has just gone off so I must run…I am trying to make hot cross buns! Fingers crossed they are ok 🙂

  26. Yum!Hot cross buns are mainly for Easter,as there is a cross on the back which is a symbol of the cross Jesus died on!

  27. I’ve been doing some more work during the Easter holidays, to make up for the when I was sick. I’ve done quite a lot. I haven’t been doing stuff from the home learning pack that much (I will do them after the holidays though), but I’ve been learning lots. I’ve watched loads of YouTube videos to help me catch up, and they’re really helpful. Ce worked a lot on volume which has led me to cube and square roots, and also exponents or indices. I’ve made a guide on all these things and I’ve also made some for English, name ‘The 8 Parts of Grammar’ which includes:

    Nouns

    Pronouns

    Verbs

    Adjectives

    Adverbs

    Conjunctions

    Interjections

    And prepositions.

It would help to have your feedback on this Miss Gorick, early thank you, and hope everyone is fine .

  28. Miss Gorick says:

Morning Ethan 🙂 It is great to hear from you! I hope you managed to relax during the Easter Holidays-although they certainly felt different to usual!
Your Grammar guide sounds super Ethan-perhaps you could also include ‘determiners’?

  29. I have been doing drawing and yoga in the morning. I go out once a day where I race my sister and help her with her cartwheels.

    Happy Easter ?

  30. Miss Gorick says:

Morning Nina! I hope that you had a peaceful Easter. I have also been doing yoga in the morning-I find it a lovely calming way to start the day 🙂
