Year 1’s next topic is ‘Journeys’. We will explore the local area, learn mapping skills, recognise map symbols, understand direction and positional language (left, right, 1/4 turn). We will explore journeys characters take in a range of books; what they see, where they go and how they travel.

During my holidays, I went to Thailand. To go to Thailand I got in a car and then I went to the airport to take a plane. It was a very long journey, and then we arrived to Thailand. Now I’m going to tell you what I did. So, I went to the room of the hotel and I slept and then in the morning I went to breakfast and we all went to the seaside. I played in the sand. My brother, my sister and me saw some crabs. Then, all my family went to the swimming pool. This was one day of my holidays and it was super fun!
