  1. Why did the war start ?
    Why did Germany invade Poland ?
    About 70 countries attended the war and about 15 million soldiers died .
    During WW2 Elizabeth II joined the Auxiliary Territorial Service ATS and also trained to be a driver .

    2. I would like to meet a WW2 Veteran to hear real life stories from wartime.
    3. When my Grandad was born and his mum took him home from the hospital after his birth, their home had been damaged in the blitz so they had to live somewhere else. Lots of people in London used to go down to the tube stations when the air raid siren went off to seek shelter.
    4. During WW2 Queeen Elizabeth served her country and joined the auxiliary territorial service and worked as a mechanic and truck driver.

    2. I would like to visit RAF(Royal Air Force) Museum because airplanes fascinate me.
    3.Between September 1940 and May 1941 there was the so said “London blitz” a German bombing campaign made by the Luftwaffe (German airforce).
    BonusQ. Queen Elizabeth was the first female member of the royal family to join the armed forces. She was promoted to the rank of Junior Commander and nicknamed “Princess Auto mechanic”.

  4. 1. During our WORLD WAR 2 topic I would like to learn about what was the process to get evacuees to sayers Croft and what it would be like for them and if they were shocked 😱 or maybe scared😬.
    2. My idea for a learning activity is that we research evacuee stories and then we write a diary entry about the day they were evacuated to sayers Croft🏕️.
    3. My great aunt Veronica lived in a town in Scotland 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿 near the forth bridge and her mum was always worried that they would get bomed in the night during WORLD WAR 2 so she says that her mum used to always spoil her with sweets and treats everyday as her mum was worried that a bomb would land near.Also her dad fought in the war and joined the RAF during WORLD WAR 2
    4. Queen Elizabeth helped her country by joining the auxiliary service and became a mechanic 👩‍🔧

    2. I would like to build a model spitfire.
    3. Clydebank was blitzed during WW2 since it was one of the main ship builders. My grandad was evacuated from Clydebank to Ayrshire.
    Bonus question: On the 24th February 1945, Princess Elizabeth joined the auxiliary territorial service (ATS) and trained to be a driver and a mechanic.

  6. I can’t wait to continue the world war 2 topic .It is rather sad although Miss Siswick always makes a good joke that makes us smile.

  7. I love our topic ! It is interesting but sad too. The children at that time really had a reason to complain .
