    1. During our WW2 topic I would like to find out more about the Normandy landings and D-Day.
    2. Visiting the imperial war museum, building a model/drawing things from WW2
    3. The German name for using tanks and planes was called blitzkrieg, there were many gas attacks and one way to combat them was to urinate on a cloth and cover your nose and mouth with it and bayonets has small knives on the end for close up combat.

    Bonus Question: she worked as a mechanic.

    2. During our project I don’t have any ideas of activities that links to World War 2 but I’m happy to try everything.

    3. I know that World War 2 lasted 6 years and 1 day. It’s also estimated that 55 million people died.

    In 1942, Queen Elizabeth 2 was given the honorary title of Colonel of the Grenadier Guards and the following year, she officially inspected the troops of the regiment during a military parade at Windsor Castle.

    A Learning activity that I would like to do is making a model tank,plane,bomb or air shelter.

    An interesting fact is that millions of Germans were imprisoned and killed because they didn’t fit the image of the perfect German.

    A learning activity I would like to do is make a model airplane from the RAF in DT.

    The fastest aircraft to see any combat in WWII was the Messerschmitt Me 163, which set an airspeed record of 702 mph in 1944.

    The queen served as mechanic and truck driver during WW2 to do her part as the rest of the nation.

  14. 1.I would like to find out which was the stronger team and how many people died in total in world war 2.

    2.For a learning activity we could do is maybe we have half the class acting out the children life in the war and the other half acting out the war.

    3.In World war 2 not only Europe was attacked but also was Asia, Africa and Pacific.
    Also Britain said that If Germany attacked again they would declare war and on the 1st of September, When Germany attacked Poland. Britain and Germany had War on 3rd of September.

    I would like to know more about Anne Frank and were she hid.

    The food was scarse and the sugar was not available for many people I would like to make the famous carrot cake 🥕 🧁 where the sugar was replaced by carrots.

    -Children were relocated from their homes to new homes away from cities because they thought they would have a better chance to survive.

    2.A good activity that we can try is having a sweet temptation in front of us and see if we can resist it so we would sort of have the same feeling as children rationing.

    3.I know that in one country there were so many injured and killed men that some women had to join them in the army. Also children’s
    gas masks were colourful and bright.

    2. We would play dodge ball where one team is Germany and is throing the ball at the others and the second team are the evacuees and are trying to dodge the ball.

    My dad says the Polish pilots were the best I would like to know if that is true.

    The Churchill War Room museum would be a great school trip. From what my dad says it is a blastl.
    We could try to recreate a battle with nerf guns, and we also could follow tactics and copy the defences from famous battles.

    The name of the german leader was Hitler. Hitler had a death wish in the world war 1 by running through the trenches with messages with no fear.
    Germany would have won if churchill wasn’t as determined.

    Bonus Question: Find out what Queen Elizabeth II did during World War II.
    She was evacuated 20 miles from at the start but she and her sister made a video to support the other evacuees. The young Elizabeth became a Junior Commander and even trained to become a mechanic.

    3. Poland had a bear that served in the military
    In 1942, a company of Polish troops was evacuated from the Soviet Union and found their way to Iran. Along the way, they befriended a Syrian brown bear that they named Wojtek. They officially enlisted him as a private in the unit. The men ended up in Italy from 1943-4, bringing the bear along with them. It helped to carry heavy ammunition and quickly became a celebrity among the troops.🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩

    2) It might be fun to make a model plane, bomb, tank, air raid shelter or ruined building in DT, and then maybe even make a mini battlefield/ruined city.

    3) WWII was the first time women were allowed to help out in a war for Britain. Some people even say that these brave women paved the way for the diverse army we have today!

    2. i would like to make a structure for ww2 airplanes or to recreate one of the bombed houses .
    3 That the Germans did not like Jewish people because they stuck together and had a lot of money so they started to split the Jewish from other people and sent them to Concentration camp ( it wasn’t only Jewish people. Where they had to really hardly work for them until they died and they had tattoo of a number on there skin so if they escape they could be identified this was permanent. The camp was in a place called Auschwitz a place in Poland

    BONUS : Queen Elizabeth helped out in the mechanics for WW2

    Interesting fact my great grandpa helped Jewish get away from concentration camp. His neighbours had the numbers on their arms from the camp

    World War Two was between 1939-1945. The leader of Germany was Adolf Hitler and the Prime Minister was Winston Churchill. There were two fighting powers called the Allies and Axis. Britain was in the Allies power with France, United States, the Soviet Union and more. Britain was against the Axis powers which included Italy, Germany, Japan and more.

    Extra things I have learnt:
    . WW2 had affected many countries
    . Children had to be evacuated to the countryside
    . Propaganda was used to encourage people to try their best to help the war effort
    (AND EVEN MORE I WOULD GO ON FOREVER!!!)

    Overall, I loved this topic and I am so happy that I learnt about WW2. It was rather saddening but an important topic to learn about.

  38. WW2 was the besttt topic ever. Before I thought it wasn’t too important and that it was in the past and I didn’t even know the Holocaust ! I’ve learnt so much ! Facts about WW2 are On 1933 Adolf Hitler and the Nazi party was officially in charge and blamed Jews for everything .

    A fact about the Blitz is that In 1939 It was called a phony war because nothing was coming to Britain but in 1940 the German aircraft bombed Famous city’s such as London , Liverpool and Manchester so people would hid in train stations and have a blackout to confuse the Germans where they were !

    Facts about Anne Franks Family , In 1925 Otto Frank and Edith Frank was married , In 1926 Margot Frank was born and in 1929 Anne Frank was born. Anne and Margot was living with their grandmother while Edith and Otto Frank went to the Netherlands . Edith Frank first got Margot and then 2 months later she got Anne for a surprise . 10 May 1940 Netherlands invaded by Germans. Anne’s 13th Birthday she receives a Diary. 1942 Margot gets a letter to work in A German Labour camp since she was 16. The Next day Frank family go in hiding . Albert Dussel and van pels family join them later . 4th August 1944 All 8 Jews betrayed . Sent to Westbrook first . Then Auschwitz where Edith Frank died on 3rd of January 1945 3 weeks before liberation and Herman Van pels die . Peter Van pels died in Mauthausen Camp on 5th May 1945 Liberation day in Netherlands. Meanwhile Anne, Margot and Auguste Frank was moved to Bergen Belsen camp in Germany . Auguste Van pels was moved to Theresienstadt camp and died on 9th of April 1945. Margot and Anne die of Typhus in Late February or Early March . ( Learnt this from a Anne Frank book in school )

    3rd September 1939 Poland was Invaded and 8th May 1945 Germany surrend war is over . V-Day!

    3. A fact I know is that the war lasted for 5years and 364 days, no 6 years and 1 day. The war started on the 3rd September! Not the 1st. It ended on the 2nd.
