This week Year 3 have been celebrating Enterprise Week!

We started our week by thinking about the different products we could make and which ones we thought would sell to the rest of the school. We then came up with a company name and logo for our personalised beaded keyrings. We decided on Bead Magic, Just Bead It! These are keyrings, which can easily be attached and hooked onto bags or keys. We designed our logos and voted on which one we thought reflected our company the best. The winning logo was:

In English, we though about the importance of persuasive language, we discussed the use of rhetorical questions and other devices such as exaggerated language and alliteration! As a class, we then wrote a script for our class advert, which we filmed on Tuesday. On Wednesday we were able to watch all the adverts and decided on the products we would like to order.

In our Maths, we have been learning about money. We started be recapping different coins and their values. Children then thought about the importance of giving change. We used different items and found the right amount of change and which coins could be used for this.

We felt very luck to speak with two parents this week. It was great to learn about the importance of resilience even for adults who have started their careers. We spoke to a Bank Treasurer, who inspired us by his journey to his current career. The importance of constantly trying to gain new skills, learn new things and take every opportunity that we can. We also spoke to a parent who works in International Development, we learnt about the importance of passion and heart in a career. It was great to hear about how you can take a personal passion and turn it into a career.

Our Learning Powers have been really important within our week. We have reflected on how we have shown resilienceresourcefulness and reciprocity and how important they are in helping us work together to create a successful product.

It has been an exciting week in Year 3 and we have loved every moment of our product development and making!

Well done Year 3, I am so proud of you and all you have achieved so far.

Have a great half term!

What has been your favourite part of the week?

  1. Dear Miss Drury
Doing enterprise week was a lot of fun. I would love to do this at home. lt was also very exciting because we got to see our Daddy when he was at work and I found it very interesting to hear about his job.
