Our current class text in Reception is…
We have been learning about how we send a letter or card. In class we set up our own Post Office to write and send cards and letters to each other.
We have learnt some new vocabulary including card, letter, envelope, stamp, address, post and post box.
Last week we made Christmas cards for our friends. We each chose a name at random and decorated a Christmas card for that friend. We then wrote a special message inside.
After that, Miss Jones wrote everyone’s names and addresses on the envelopes ready to send.
Today we walked to the Post Office on Baker Street to buy stamps and post our cards. The lady helped us in the Post Office and showed us where the post box was.
We are very excited to receive a Christmas card in the post very soon and find out who made our cards!
I loved going to the post office because it was so fun putting the letter in the postbox. I cannot wait to get my card in the post.

I loved going to the post office and I liked putting a stamp on my card. I loved that I could post the card for Isabella. I can now go to the post office with my mummy and help her to post the Christmas cards for my friends and family.

I loved going on our trip to the post office. I liked mailing the letters and putting the stamps on. I am excited about getting my letter at home!
I really liked going to the post office. My favourite part was putting the stamps on and posting them. I am very excited to receive my card in the post.
It was so much fun to address a letter, learn how to put the stamp on the right place and wait a bit for the post man to come and deliver it. Thank for this amazing opportunity!
