We’ve been learning about different cave paintings in our history and art lessons. We know they are so important because they are a historical source that allows us to better understand The Stone Age. We’ve studied the Cave of Altamira, Lascaux Cave and even Magura Cave!

Today we put our art skills to the test. We’ve been practicing different sketching techniques, such as cross hatching and shading. We spent time looking at even more examples of cave art and tried to replicate the symbols in our sketchbooks. Next week we will create our very own piece of cave art using the coffee stained papers we’ve made. We can’t wait!
