Today we celebrated the Coronation of King Charles III!

We had an exciting day in Reception! We all made a fabulous effort to come to school wearing the colours from the flag of the United Kingdom.

We began the day with a special assembly led by Miss Coleman where we found out some information about what a coronation is and the special things we would see during a coronation.

We then joined back together in class where we made some colourful bunting for our special picnic lunch!

We created our own drawings of King Charles III. We looked carefully at different pictures and represented the King’s portrait using circles lines and details. We thought carefully about what colours we used and added special gems and sparkles to the crowns. We were very proud of our drawings!

At lunchtime we enjoyed an exciting picnic on the roof with the whole school! It was wonderful to gather together to celebrate this historic event.

We enjoyed taking part in the celebrations today!

A special thanks to our school kitchen staff who provided such a tasty lunch!
