Our new topic in Reception is ‘Traditional Tales.’ Our current class story is…
The Gingerbread Man

To develop our vocabulary this week, we focused on describing the Gingerbread Man. We thought of different words together to describe the Gingerbread Man’s appearance and the actions he can do.

We then made our own Gingerbread Man by using a range of art materials including oil pastels, mosaic squares, pom poms and gooogly eyes.

As we made our own Gingerbread Man, we described it using some sentence starters…
Barney ‘He is fast!’
Apolline ‘The Gingerbread Man has buttons.’
Stella ‘The Gingerbread Man can run.’
River ‘He is yummy!’

Well done Reception, you remembered to use lots of new words we discussed when describing your Gingerbread Man. This will support our writing later in the week!

I coloured in the gingerbread man first and then I stuck on eyes and I put on buttons as well. Also I stuck on lots of sparkly paper when I finished it I was so happy that I did it!
My gingerbread man looks happy 😊
