In Geography, we have been studying all about food and farming. We have focused on the different features that you might see on a farm, such as a farmhouse, lush-green fields and big barns. We have previously learnt all about London when we studied the Great Fire of London, and London landmarks. We looked in detail about the different things that we might see in a city, from skyscrapers to hundreds of vehicles from buses to electric cars. When we were in Year 1, we learnt about the seaside and we have further consolidated this understanding when we learnt more about the features of the coast before our trip to Broadstairs.

On Wednesday, we worked in groups to try to recreate these different geographical locations. We had to think hard about the different features or things that we might see at these places. We worked hard to try to recreate helicopters, skyscrapers, busy buildings, barns, chicken coops, cliffs, and the beach! We then shared with one another, what we had made and why. At the end of our making time, we had a think about what was different about these creations.

Today, we looked at more aerial photographs, to be able to complete a table, all about the differences and similarities of these areas. This meant that we had to think back to all of the geographical features that we have studied before. We also made sure to think about the human features, such as train stations and parks that we might find in a city but not necessarily on a farm!

We really enjoyed being able to be creative with the Lego, and we were able to work really well with our groups, to create effective and informative pieces which reflected the area that we had studied.
