We recently celebrated the end of our Odyssey writing unit by taking part in our very own Great Greek Author Festival!

After exploring the epic tale, we planned, drafted, edited and redrafted our own missing chapter from The Odyssey. Throughout the unit, we worked hard to create atmosphere, build suspense, use ambitious vocabulary and include engaging dialogue to bring our stories to life.

Once we had carefully published our final chapters into our official author books, we were ready to share our work with a real audience. We were delighted to welcome Year 4, who listened attentively to our stories and shared some fantastic feedback about our writing.

To make the festival even more special, Miss Coleman and Miss Carruthers came along to review our work. They were incredibly impressed with the creativity, imagination and high quality of our writing, commenting on our use of descriptive language, dialogue and storytelling techniques.

The Great Greek Author Festival was a wonderful way to celebrate all of our hard work and to experience what it feels like to be a published author. We are so proud of everything we have achieved throughout this unit and loved sharing our stories with others!
