What an amazing week we’ve had in Reception during Enterprise Week at St. Vincent’s!
This week, each class became a company, creating and selling their very own products and we had so much fun becoming young entrepreneurs!
Our company, Twinkle Twinkle Keyrings, was born on Monday after we designed our own logos and chose our favourite. We decided to make beautiful star-shaped keyrings, and we spent time learning all about money and recognising different coins and notes as well thinking about why grown ups go to work to earn money during our PSED session.
On Tuesday, the excitement continued as we filmed our very own advert to persuade people to buy our sparkly star keyrings. We also began creating our products by painting our stars a bright yellow, they looked wonderful!
Wednesday was a very busy day! We proudly presented our adverts in assembly and placed orders with other classes. We also had a special visit from a dentist, who talked to us about their important job and how we can take good care of our teeth. Later, we took part in a fun money-matching activity to learn more about coin values.
Thursday was extra special as we welcomed our mums and dads into class to help us finish our products. Together, we decorated our stars with gems, added the keyrings, and topped them off with curly ribbons. They all looked fantastic!
On Friday, it was delivery day! We carefully delivered our orders to the other classes and received the lovely items we had bought from them. We also spent time learning about why we use money, and how it can be stored and spent wisely.
It was a week full of creativity, teamwork, maths, and fun! We are so proud of everything the children achieved.
A big thank you to everyone who came to talk to us, helped with our making, and supported our little business. Twinkle Twinkle Keyrings was a shining success!
Well done to everyone in Reception for a brilliant first half term. You have worked so hard! I hope you have a lovely holiday and I will see you soon!…
