This week, we have been learning about the special celebration โ€˜Diwali.โ€™ This is the festival of light, celebrated by the Hinduism religion.

We have been learning some new vocabulary to support our understanding of Diwali…
Diwali, festival of light, Hindu, Rangoli pattern, Diva lamp and decorate

We learnt about how people get ready for Diwali by decorating their house with lights and brightly coloured decorations.

We looked at Rangoli patterns that are used as a decoration. The colourful Rangoli patterns are placed on the floor near the front door of the house to welcome guests and bring good luck.

We explored decorating our own Rangoli pattern by using brightly coloured paints and glitter!
