To start the week this week, we all arrived to school in our rainbow colours to fundraiser for friends of the Earth. Green team did an excellent job organising the event and it raised lots of money, well done Gabrielle, Daniella and the rest of St Vincent’s Green Team.

As part of their homework, Year 3 picked one element of the environment, and created a presentation discussing ways to protect it. There were some fantastic posters and interactives presentations about different aspects of our environment such as; deforestation, saving the oceans, managing plastics, recycling, rainforests and habitats. I was very impressed by their speaking skills to the audience as well as their independent research skills.

Our environment is so important and we must manage and protect it in any way we  can. Some common environmental saving tips the children found were; picking up rubbish from the ocean, eating seafood sustainably, choosing electric cars and transport to use less fuel, reduce, reuse, recycle, using paper responsibly and of course, taking care of our animals.
