Greenpeace have collaborated with National Poetry Day and invited everyone over the age of 7 to enter a ‘Poem for the Planet’ competition. Green Team thought this would be a good way to celebrate our world by writing about it. The poems can be in any form: limerick, haiku, prose. The closing date is the 1st of December.

It will be lovely to hear if anyone has success with the national competition. However, Green Team thought it was unfair on the younger children so we have decided to hold our own:

Poems for God’s World

Our competition is open to everyone at St Vincent’s. The poems can be about anything in God’s world. The stars, our families, animals, the weather, the church. Any one thing or a combination of the wonderful things around us that Christ has given . Something that inspires in us a sense of awe, wonder and happiness. The closing date will be 9th December. It will be judged by Green Team, Mrs Knowler and Miss Jones. We look forward to reading your wonderful work. Whether you are entering the Greenpeace competition or St Vincent’s, or even both, we wish you good luck!
