Today, I had an amazing chance of being Headteacher for the day.

My day started at 8.20 when Miss Coleman picked me up from the office. I put my bag and coat in the headteacher’s office and headed downstairs to distribute hand sanitizer and to greet the adults and children. Then, I went to check on the coach which was going to transport Nursery and Reception to Willow’s Farm.

After, I prepared for assembly where I explained my rule. Year 3 performed a poem called The Pied Piper of Hamelin. After, I told the whole school about the Thank You letters to give to the auction donators and that I will be choosing the winner. Then, Stephen Booth from the Marylebone Library explained all about the Summer Reading Challenge. When he finished explaining, I gave out the Stars of the Week and we ended our assembly with a prayer.

Then I went down to the Office to spend £50 on school resources. I bought sharpeners, pencils and art supplies-always needed!

After a short break, I observed all classes to see what they were doing and wrote down positive feedback about their lessons. Some positive feedback included: good participation, neat writing in their book, lots of good ideas when putting their hand up. Then, I went to all the classes again to share the positive feedback with some of the teachers.

As it was a very hot day, I went to walk the dog whilst it was still cool. When I returned I sampled the school lunches, which were tasty, before heading back to my classmates to go down for lunch break. I then ate my packed lunch-being a headteacher makes you hungry!

After going to break, I finished giving out the feedback to all the teachers. Then, I collected the Thank You letters and started writing this website page.

Shortly (depending on traffic) I will meet Nursery and Reception on their coach to welcome them back to school. I am looking forward to my little brother seeing me as headteacher. After meeting them, I will give out any sun stickers as a role of Headteacher for the day.

I am so thankful to have spent this amazing day with our Headteacher. I cannot believe that I will leave this school next year. I have had such a brilliant experience in this school.

Miss Le Baron.
