A Friday afternoon to remember!

In Year 2, we have been learning all about London. Last week, we worked in our groups to design our own version of a famous London landmark, considering the materials we might need, and how we would come together to produce a product that looked similar to the real thing. This was our full criteria:

  • Our landmark must look similar to the real landmark.
  • It must be a 3-D shape.
  • It must stand on its own.

Today, we carefully selected the materials that we wanted to use from a fantastic selection or recycled goods that were provided by our families. We then discussed our ideas with our groups, and began on our construction! We were using masking tape to secure the different materials, in the hope that they would stand on their own. We worked really hard to communicate well with each other, and consider the opinions of others. We shared well with other groups and came together to help to tidy the classroom at the end of the day! At the end of the lesson, we spoke about which learning powers we had used across the afternoon and we all agreed that we had used great resilience, reciprocity, and resourcefulness.

Well done for such a great week, Year 2. I am so proud of your team work today.

  1. I think it was really fun because it made me feel artistic and make me want to do more and work together in my group.
