In Year 3 this week, we have been celebrating ‘Mental Health Awareness Week’. We have been able to take part in activities that remind us of the importance of taking care of our own mental health.

The focus this year is on ‘connecting with nature’ so all of our activities have been centred around this theme. We did observational sketching of some flowers; we spent time looking at the details within the flowers, their stalks, petals and leaves and sketched them.

Another fun activity we have taken part in this week was decorating plant pots; we used gems and pens to design and decorate our own plant pots then, we planted a seed with soil. We talked about the importance of looking after ourselves, just as we need to look after plants. We can’t wait to see them grow!

It has also been great to see Year 3 connecting with nature throughout the week. They have taken and drawn pictures on the way to school and when out on walks!
