Today’s focus is ‘Giving Back to Nature’. Giving encapsulates many things – from showing goodwill and generosity of spirit to giving presents and giving up our time. Evidence suggests that ‘giving back’ or helping others promotes wellbeing for all ages. Why not do something nice for a friend, or for your local environment. The key to giving is to look outwards, as well as inwards. Seeing yourself, and your happiness, linked to the wider community can be incredibly rewarding and creates connections with the people around you.

One step at a time: Take advantage of the summer months and get outdoors. Opting for walking instead of using motorised transport reduces pollution and improves your physical and mental health.

Plant Care: This week all of the children have had an opportunity to plant seeds and decorate their own pots. Here are some tips that will help you care for your plants:

  • Keep the potting soil moist- It’s important to make sure soil is not too wet nor too dry
  • Make sure the plant pot has drainage holes in the bottom of the pot
  • Place your plant near a light source
