In our music lesson this week with Mr Hylton, we were learning how to keep a steady beat by counting ‘one, two.’

First of all, we warmed up by practising our counting. We sang a song all about counting up to two. This helped our counting skills for our main activity.

After that we practised using the Boomwhackers to make a steady beat. We each had two Boomwhackers. We used our left hand to count ‘one’ and our right hand to count ‘two.’ We practised this in a circle whilst Mr Hylton accompanied us on the drum. We had to try hard to stay focused so we didn’t miss a beat!

We then tried a challenge!ย  We took it in turns to play together in groups. We tried hard to count the beats ‘one, two,’ as we each waited for our turn.

What did you enjoy learning in our Music lesson this week Reception?
