Over the last few weeks Year 1 have been practising using the boomwhackers to make different patterns of sounds. We have learnt that the length of the boomwhackers helps create different sounds when we whack them on the ground. Many of you would have seen a small show of what we have been learning in our class assembly last week.

This week in music we started by following Mr Hylton’s lead and clapping in time to some different beats. The beats started off easy but got progressively harder, so it was hard to keep up! Next we went over the song and actions we have been learning called ‘Don’t Push Me Down’, which is a lovely song about resilience. We then took it in turns coming up and practising putting the beat of the boomwhackers to the music. This was really tricky, but we are going to keep trying next week!
