This term we have started looking at our new book Varjak Paw by SF Said.
We began by just looking at the front cover and seeing what clues we could find so that we could predict what might happen in the story. We all realised that Varjak Paw is the name of the cat because the author used the word ‘paw’ as a clue. The tag line “This cat must learn to fight” made us think that perhaps Varjak is a kind cat but then gets in some tricky situations and has to adapt and learn to survive.
In our next lesson, we read the first chapter and created freeze frames to show what was happening. We had to choose 6 key events in the first chapter to show in the freeze frame.
We can’t wait to read more about Varjak and his adventure!
Varjak paw looks like a brilliant book.I can’t wait to read the whole of it and find out what happens in it. I also loved when we did the freeze frames to retell the story.
