Nursery have had a very fun and exciting morning taking part in an Art workshop led by Laura from the October Gallery.

Laura based our workshop on our artist this term ‘Giuseppe Arcimboldo.’
First of all we studied some of his paintings and talked about what fruits and vegetables we could see and what body parts they represent. It was very interesting to find out about his work and look at his interesting paintings.

We then got to make our very own art work in the style of Giuseppe. We used the vegetables to make some prints of our own face. We thought carefully about making our eyes, nose and mouth and chose a vegetable for each of these.

We also made our own 3D fruit by sticking lots of mini squares of tissue paper. We could chose a pear, watermelon, lemon or apple. We thought carefully about what colours each of these fruits were and chose the correct colour tissue paper to cover them.

We had lots of fun learning this morning! A big thank you to the Laura and the October Gallery for providing the Art workshop today!
