On Tuesday, Year 1 had the wonderful opportunity to visit London Zoo as part of our Science learning this term.

We set off bright and early, walking to Baker Street to catch the bus. After a short wait, we hopped on board and made our way to the zoo.

Once inside, we began our adventure by exploring a range of incredible animals. We saw tigers, capybaras, Komodo dragons, camels, horses, pigs, goats, and many more. We then visited The Secret Life of Reptiles and Amphibians, which we had been especially excited about. Year 1 loved seeing all the creatures—and our favourite, of course, was the gecko!

Next, we stopped for lunch, enjoying some time to sit with our friends and relax after a very busy morning. After eating, we went to see the gorillas and visited Santa’s Workshop, where we made elf hats before our big afternoon surprise.

We were incredibly lucky to meet Santa! He was visiting London Zoo on Tuesday to see one of his favourite animals—the camel. We chatted with him and even received a small gift.

After this exciting experience, we continued our journey through the zoo, exploring the Rainforest and Africa areas. The children especially loved seeing the zebras and giraffes.

Finally, we made our way back to school, arriving just in time for the end of the day. We had an amazing trip, and Year 1 were absolute superstars throughout!
