This week in our P.E. lesson we continued our work on ball skills, with a focus on throwing. The children took part in a lively session where they practised aiming beanbags at different targets. They explored both underarm and overarm throws and learnt how stepping forward with the opposite foot helps them throw with better control and distance.
Everyone tried really hard to focus on keeping their eyes on the target and using one hand to throw, thinking carefully about how to improve their accuracy. We also talked about how bigger targets are easier to hit and how distance can make throwing more challenging.
Working in small groups, we took turns, encouraged each other, and made independent choices about how to make the activities suit their own level. It was fantastic to see everyone thinking about how to throw, working sensibly with their partners and groups and developing their physical confidence through play and exploration!
