This week, Year 6 visited the Transport Museum to take part in a Junior Citizenship event.

In teams with children from another local school, we participated in a range of different workshops including fire safety, road safety, first aid, drug safety, online safety as well as safety when travelling on the bus and Underground.

We all learnt a lot more about keeping ourselves safe when we are out and about.

We are very grateful to the experts from Hope UK, Transport for London, the Metropolitan Police, the London Ambulance Service and London Fire Service who led these informative workshops.

Many thanks also to the parents who helped us on the trip. We can’t take part in these exciting experiences without your support.

Can you share more about what you learned, Year 6?

This was really fun and interesting. I found the firefighter’s talk and the bus and tube things very interesting as I did not know that a small, single flame could engulph a whole room in only 8 minuets and that bus driving is a very dull job so it would be nice to here a “hello” every now and again. I now also know what would happen to you if you fell on the tracks; you would be elecrectuted (likely to death).
