Today, Year 6 were visited by Julie from Prevent who led two very interesting workshops all about how we can keep ourselves and others safe online.
The first workshop was called, ‘Is it funny or is it hate?’ which built on what we have leaned in PSHE and Computing lessons throughout our time at school. We learned more about:
how to stay safe in online social environments
how to support others online
what being respectful online looks like
what to do if someone is being disrespectful.
The second workshop was called, ‘Fact or Fake’ and was particularly informative because most of the information was new to us. We learnt about:
if information on the web is always reliable
the difference between ‘misinformation’ and ‘disinformation’
what unreliable content looks like and how we can avoid it.
