This week in Religious Education, we started by recapping our previous learning about being and feeling ‘welcome’. We talked about being welcomed into school and church, and then we learnt about the new word Baptism. This is when we are welcomed into God’s family!

We looked at the signs and symbols of Baptism (the Baptism candles, a cross, the Priest, a baby and the font with holy water in it) and discussed what happens in a Baptism. We then each got a turn to role play a Baptism as the Priest, while saying “I Baptise you in the name of the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit’.

Throughout the week we have also had the chance to practice our cutting and pasting of the signs and symbols of Baptism. This has led to some really great discussion about Baptism!
