“We should spend as much time in thanking God for his benefits as we do in asking him for them.”-  St. Vincent de Paul

This Sunday, 27th September, is the feast day of St. Vincent de Paul. To honour this, we spent an afternoon learning all about this remarkable man and created a piece of artwork, including writing, to reflect the life he lived.

St. Vincent de Paul is The patron saint of charitable societies as he dedicated his life to providing relief for the poor.

In 1625, he even formed his own religious group called the ‘Congregation of the Mission’ which was made up of lay men and priests who worked with poor people by helping them with food and clothing and teaching them about Christ.

By 1625, he had formed a religious group to be called the Congregation of the Mission. This group made up of lay men and priests worked with the poor people, helping them with food and clothing and teaching them about Christ.

We are blessed to attend a school named after this wonderful Saint and as a class, we spent the afternoon reflecting on his life and focused our art work and writing on the following question:

How is St. Vincent de Paul an example of God’s love in action?

  6. Hi Miss Gorick,

We had a lot of fun doing this.
St Vincent de Paul helped the less fortunate and formed many kinds of charities including the first all female charity, The Daughters of Charity. He was a very kind saint.
