St. Vincent’s is once again open today and we are looking forward to celebrating World Book Day. However there will be no after school activities today and all children are to be collected at 3:15 p.m. please. We apologise for any inconvenience this causes.

We will be celebrating World Book Day in a number of ways:

  • Dress up as your favourite book character: children can dress up as their favourite book character for the day (please remember to dress warmly)
  • Reading Carousel- Reading activities throughout the day
  • Family Reading: all parents and carers are invited into school to read with their children at 2.45 pm on World Book Day
  • £1 book tokens will be given out which can be spent in any participating bookshop or at the School Bookfair
  • We will also be continuing to foster a passion for reading by encouraging children to take part in a ‘Royal Reading Challenge’, where they complete a number of fun reading activities, including an ‘extreme reading’ competition. Your child will have received a challenge booklet as part of their half termly homework and should return the booklet today.

We look forward to seeing you all in your costumes and to once again enjoying the snow. Please remember to leave extra time for your journey.
