We have had great fun in Reception today celebrating St Vincent’s Book Day 2023!

We started our day with a whole school assembly. We loved the parade where we got to show everyone all of our costumes!

We then had a special drama workshop led by Perform Drama. Joanna focused on the story ‘The Selfish Crocodile,’ and we used movement to express our emotions just like the characters in the story. We learnt a fun song about the crocodile too!

In the afternoon we opened up the Nursery and Reception classroom to participate in joint activities. We joined in with lots of book day activities including making bookmarks, crowns, storytelling and creating our own puppet shows!

At the end of the day we enjoyed a special family reading session and listened to our favourite stories.

What a fun filled day we have had!

Well done Reception with all of your fantastic costumes and effort during today’s celebrations! Remember to write on our class Reading Blog to continue sharing your favourite stories!

  4. I enjoyed dressing as little red riding hood and reading with my daddy and big sister
